How can you contradict yourself by being against hunting and then doing a 180 and saying mabye a few would be OK?? You say millions of animals are killed, did you ever thing of the disease and overcrowding of the animal kingdom would be if those millions lived every year?? |

Actually talk to some of the communities that pushed for hunting to be banned and it actually went into effect....LOL Within four years they were BEGGING for people to start hunting again. They were so overloaded with deer that they were coming into their yards searching for food, tearing apart their trash cans and devouring their gardens. It keeps the population of deer down to a survival level, without hunting they reproduce to rapidly and then there is not enough in the forrest to feed them. In the long run they suffer the least at a hunter's wrath then they do starving to death.. |

Hunting banned? I dont think so...For thousands of years, men have hunted for FOOD..to LIVE..I LOVE Moose meat, deer meat, etc..I think that as long as you are hunting for food it is ok..hunting for sport is a whole other ballgame though. |

Luv Bug it's not entirely illegal, however there are seasons in which you can hunt, just as there are certain seasons where you can only remove certain types of fish from a river or lake if you catch them. The seasons when you can hunt or fish the certain types centers around their breeding time. People aren't exactly heartless, so you can't shoot a mother that has a small fawn running loose.....Bambi in the real world doesn't happen legally...LOL |

Well, HockeyMan, you do have a point there. The population should be kept at a safe rate, so diseases wouldn't spread. |

LadyLuckGail, I agree. We should only hunt if we're eating our kill. To just put it up for show isn't very uproght. |

True. The hunting seasons should be kept. But, I do think that they should have tighter security on poaching. I think poaching is entirely illegal. |

I think so to. I do so love to see all the starving deer during the winter, it makes me feel good to know they weren't shot by a selfish hunter who was only going to make some deer-jerky anyway. Instead, they can wonder free and starve to death, and if they don't starve, than I know an SUV will give them a timely death, which will send insurance rates through the roof..but so what, at least a nasty hunter didn't get to feed his family with deer meat! |

Anyway, if you stop killing animals then your in for a big Surprise. Do you Like living in Houses as Mice and Rats Overtake them? Poor Rats, they deserve to live too! Uh huh, Yea.., tell me that when they start nibbling at your toes while you sleep in your bed. |

I love animals more than anything, they are dearest friends of mine, and it breaks my heart to know they are hunted.Hunting just for sport, I think should be banned, perhaps. But if someone hunts for food, then it is acceptable...I find it most detestable when hunters kill a deer, and merely take the horns and throw away the rest. But if they use it for food, then it's resourceful, and understandable...Y'know?Like, my uncle hunts deer, but he also uses it for food and things, he makes use of it. -Lady Valkyrie- |

hunting is necessary, aside from providing food for families with low incomes, it also helps eliminate a surplus of an otherwise destructive animal and eliminates diseases such as lyme disease and west nile |

I love animals more than anything, but I also come from a family of hunter's who are also conservationists. My uncle is a forest ranger and tells horror stories of deer suffering from starvation, disease, or getting hit by cars. Cars kill more deer than hunters every year. Should we ban cars? I love seeing the deer healthy and free, but I also understand the need to cull the herd since most of all the natural predators were wiped out by man being afraid of them. Silents Star. |

I do not hunt. But I have to set you straight on a few things- first off, it's not millions of animals every minute. That would be very hard to do. Secondly- hunting is not evil, and it's not killing any more animnals than would normally die from starvation. And third- it would encroach upon constitutional rights especially the second amendment. |

Animals will die from disease or starvation or old age. There is no harm in allowing people to eat meat and this has been done since the beginning of time. As a matter of fact, I think the original sin was that Adam and Eve killed a bull, ate it, and then worshipped it as this is the first symbol of worship I can find in history. Perhaps then God altered our DNA to accept meat as a part of our sustenance? |

I guessed I messed up on my post then. What I meant to say is to only hunt if you're going to eat the animal. If the hunters would just take a body part and leave the animal there, that's wrong. But, if they hunt it down and leave it the way it is, it's a little more better, meaning they hunt to keep the population at a safe rate. But, poaching is illegal. That's what I meant to say. I have eaten meat at home, but at school I only eat salads. |

I dont see anything worng with hunting as long as it is for an animal that is not going extinct. People hunt elephants for their tusks and cheetas for their fur. That is wrong. |

hi yeah i come from a big hunting community, i can remember being like three and standing there watching my dad hang a deer's carcass (sorry) from the empty swingset that i think he had purposly set up and gutting it not being grossed out just thinking about the wonderful food we'd get, when hunters hunt there is only maybe a 2 percent of them that hunt, kill, and only save the head, at least around here, i've never heard of that happening around here, but you'd have to be extremely cold hearted to do that and these days i think that less people are concerned with being the hunter and more concerned with being the hunted. |
