HI, IM HOME!!.....................Thunderhead

Hello Everyone,

I’m home at last!!

I’ll be spending the next few days going through withdrawals from the morphine they had me on. I plan never again to touch that stuff…not until its time to go all the way out. I have never felt so sedated, misunderstood, and confused in my life. My heart goes out to those that are addicted to medication like that. It may as well be death. It felt more like hell. As for the pain, I’ll be researching for a natural alternative.

As you know, I went to Seattle to have the tumor burned off. Instead of getting to that we found a blood clot or tumor inside the artery of the liver. This artery is the largest blood vessel leading to heart in the body. If this clot were to break off, it would have gone through the heart then lodged in the lung, which I very well may not have survived.

Next choice: We could thin the blood with thinners to melt down the clot, then perform the burning off of the tumor.

Problem: Vericies or small blood veins have already appeared in my throat and stomach ready to rupture, due to cirrhosis or hardening of the liver, preventing blood flow, so it backs up into the throat and stomach vessels. Taking a blood thinner would cause these to rupture and I would bleed to death.

Next choice: We could place a filter on the artery to catch the clot. #1: A temporary filter #2: A permanent filter

Problem: A temporary filter would allow us to burn the cancer off and then remove the cancer, however, the filter can come off during surgery and cause a cardiac arrest beings the clot is too close to the heart. A permanent filter would continue to catch clots and clog up, causing lack of blood flow to the lower extremities and edema in the legs (water retention).

Next choice: We could forget about doing anything at this time, go home and hope the clot does not break free. I could use natural substances and nutrition to aid in shrinking clot and cancer.

I don’t see a quality life emerging from the use of either approaches to this. I happen to know one must have money in order to continue the high cost of vitamins and nutrition to stay healthy with this illness.

So here I am planning for my end. I decided to spend this time (up to six months, probably less) getting things in order. I can’t tell you how much the USM donation will help in that area. The funeral arrangements at the lowest cost are $3,900. I will be focusing on coming up with the $3,400 in the next few months. It’s amazing how much they charge for a temporary casket to use getting your body from the hospital to the funeral home, ONCE, and then throw it away. Try $450. That goes for everyone. They get you coming in, and they get you going out…lol!

I start back to work tomorrow. I don’t feel like it, but my boss has mentioned letting me go if I don’t show back up soon.

I want to thank all that called yesterday and day before:

DizzyMe, Katsho, Otter2, LadyLuck, Tweeti, Gail, KornGirl, Linda, Pam, Dreamerpoet, Missy, TAC, Diane, Rainbow Angel, NKA, Wooden Nickel, SOTD, OddSmell, LadyNyx, MoonGirl, KeepSake, Zema, Emi, SassyGirl, Heather, B.Monkey13, HeldbyAngels, Jungabel, Tugger, Thinker

And if I am forgetting anyone, please let me know. I am aware many tried to call and couldn’t get through, you count, I could feel the prayers and good vibes emulating everywhere from everyone. It was the only thing keeping my head above the medication.

Thank you for your kind a giving hearts USMers. The single most rewarding thing in my life has been to spend time here and get to know you. My son said he felt like he had brothers and sisters he doesn’t even know yet. I hope he comes to USM more and finds family himself.

I love you all!!!!

Karen/Thunderhead

Date: 11/2/2002 5:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    I called, I was the one who told you that terrible joke, what did the rabbit say to the jack O lantern? Hoppy Halloween. Here is an alternative that will save you a lot of money and can save a lot of lives, have you thought about donating your body to science? This means that medical students will after your death collect your body for free and they will take your body and it will be used for the students to learn off from. After they are finished THEY will pay for your funeral costs and will do whatever your wishes are. It's something to think about for at least on the saving money end. I'm sorry if I'm being too morbid

Your very sweet, and faint voice just said ok, and you were gone. You remember anything? Hey, did Shadowghost get through? I know she was trying to call. Anyway, We gotta talk about this going back to work; cuz I simply can't see how in the world you're gonna be able to do that. Date: 11/3/2002 5:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 177    Your lizard welcomes you home. I have been anxiously awaiting, scratching nervously at the glass walls of my terrarium. Your pet is apologetic about his unexpected & awkward departure from the dinner at Claim Jumpers. If you're mad at your lizard, feel free to stomp on his tail. It will hurt....but he'll grow back a new one...& won't hold it against you.
Date: 11/3/2002 6:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 160    Karen, your constitution amazes me to no end. Your stay focused, worry about things that you should not be worried about. I wish that I could be there for you as I am sure so many of us do. Take care of yourself, you've given so much now it's your turn. Love to you, Pam Lopez
