I can't speak for all men, just for myself...I don't like going to doctors, in fact I would prefer to only see a Doc TWICE in my life...when I'm born, and to certify me when I'm dead. I, and other guys I know, were brought up to not complain, to not acknowledge pain or weakness...going to a doctor is sometimes seen as just that, and acknowledgement that one is not strong...denial my friend is a very powerful thing. I don't mind seeing a doctor. What I hate is sitting there waiting and waiting. When they finally get you in one of those cold exam rooms, you have to sit there on the table and wait some more. Instead of scheduling only one patient for a certain time, I think they must book the same spot for about ten. Either that or they like to take really long breaks every two minutes.  |

MA, your right..some think they'll be just fine..I guess. They don't know that for a fact..My dad smokes and has a bladder problem (which we think was due to a car accident he was in a few years ago) I'm probably going to have to donate him a lung and a kidney..lol |

I hear ya Frank..I don't like to sit and wait..I don't have the patience to sit there. I had bladder problems a year ago and the doctor I was seeing scheduled all his appt's at the same time and you'd end up sitting in his waiting room for atleast an hour. It's ridiculous |

LOL. my father is just like that. only, he doesn't like going because he is afraid of what the doctor will find wrong. unfortunatly, i inherited that as well. lol. i HATE going to the doctor. but, unlike him, i go if necessary. my husband doesn't like going either. for him, i think it is the "macho" thing. he thinks he is a tough guy. and he is afraid going to the doctors will say he isn't.  |

I know Apocolypse..I had to go to one and it isn't fun but he needs to see one..he is having really bad bladder problems..it's not something he can put off..the medicine isn't working anymore. |

yeah, its strange isnt it? My uncle got his leg caught in his tractor and it cut up his leg pretty bad but he refused to go the doctor. He showed me and he'd actually taken a large chunk of skin from his leg and i told him that he should get it checked out cause he need stitches and perhaps an injection to stop infection, but i still dont think he went. Crazy!!  |

My Dad has been to the doctor about twice in about 30 years probably. I'm very glad his health is good, but the reason is for him I think because he is a doctor so he thinks he knows everything, haha.  |

i hate going to the doctor or dentist and i hadn't been to a dentist in over 20 years and hadn't been to a doctor in over 15 years. and yes, doctor's can be weird. my mother's new doctor told her (first visit) that she needed jesus to heal her like he did the lepers (no joke) and that she was a lost lamb and needed to find jesus. and, he was chewing on a stick the whole time.  |

I don't know why they don't like to go to the doctor? All the guys I know don't mind, I don't think? But maybe because it costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time. I often have to go to the doctor because I get a lot of ear infections. If I didn't go, then I would be deaf right now. What I do hate going to is the eye doctor. I hate it when they shoot air into your eyes to check for glaucoma.  |

I worked for a company one time, that had a company Doctor, that had one of those Squirlie voices, talked real,real funny compared to most men, and having him give you a physical, was like...
