i think people should have to pull over.. i've seen and almost hit many a person while they last minute slammed on thier breaks or didn't turn because of a cell phone....they cause traffic problems and ignore what is going on around them |

I think its a personal thing, some people can handle it, some cant, but for safty reasons, i think they should be banned--The End |

Well if they are caught DRIVING while using a cell phone then they should be beaten with the cell phone. I have been ran off the road, almost in a headon collision and even almost lost a brand new boat due to careless cell phone users. And it starts from 16 yr olds on up. If its an emergency then they can pull off the road and use it. I am all for a law against driving and using a cell phone. It's way to distracting even when you use hands free mode. |

I miss driving and talking on my cell. I just bought a new truck with a 5-speed, so it's kind of hard to shift and talk on the phone. Bummer. I always wondered that if the police who were enforcing the "no cell phone" laws, are complying with it. Silents Star |

I think it's just stupid to talk on one while driving. No matter how careful someone thinks they are, their full attention isn't on the road so anything can happen. If some emergency came up and the person was absolutely unable to pull over, it would be understandable but under normal circumstances, I think it's very unresponsible. I don't think unresponsible is a word, but you get the idea ;) |

I am against cell phones while driving. In some states its the law to pull over. I like that law, When my dad had his cell he would ALWAYS either pull over, or make me answer it. I think thats a very good idea, hehehe a few week ago, me and my mom almost got this bumper sticker that said,"How well would you drive with that cell phone up your um "butt"? LOL |

Personally, I don't see how they can be any more dangerous than trying to eat a whopper with one hand while driving with the other. In fact I've come closer to having an accident while trying to pull the paper off a burger without getting anything on my clothes. I never had a problem driving with a cell phone, but since they are illegal in NY now I have got a head phone that works great, and my cell phone has voice dialing so all I do is put on the headset press a button say the name and voila. It's easier now that I'm used to it but I never thought it was necessary. I think there are many factors that cause accidents and someone in the seat next to you talking is just as distracting, if not more, than a cell phone. I think the law was passed to pacify. |

lolz they are dangerous in my opinion, however they are jsut as dangerous as i think smoking...or anyother thing...so if there gonna ban mobiles, they should ban smoking in the car as well...jsut my opinion man! |

ahh but how long does it take you to put on your headset and how many hands does it take you, Shelly that is exactly the point i was trying to make, i mean there are so many things that take peoples hands and attention off the wheel, |

I agree completely, we're trading one "evil" for another. The only difference is the legislators have pacified the complainers so they don't have to hear about it anymore. |

You said that you've seen other distractions like, billboards, food, talking to the passengers, etc. and thats exactly my point, why add ANOTHER distraction when its easy to either not answer it, or pull over to the side of the road? |

OMG...I despise people who talk on their cell phones while driving! They rarely pay attention to what they are doing, and I have seen many a chronic "gossiper" almost cause a wreck because of their big mouths....emergency cases are fine..but come on, can't they wait a few minutes until they get home to start blabbing??? |

I agree. Im a smoker, and as much as Id hate to give up smoking while I drive, I think its dangerous. Im always rooting around trying to find my lighter, burning myself, getting ashes everywhere....Ban everything rather than singling people out. |

Looks like there should be a few more laws inforced. No talking to anybody in the car or listening to music. Its just as destracting. |

I think cell phone should be legal only if a person has speaker or hands free. I have seen many stupid people who cant talk and drive at the same time, and they either swerve all over the place and drive really slow and are oblivious to the world. |

It's too hard to ban doing everything while driving, too much legislation. I don't know why people even use cell phones at all while driving. One time my car broke down on a deserted road and it was too far to walk to buy more powersteering fluid, then I bought a cell phone because I was driving a Ford after all. In all this time I haven't used it once. |

I don't think people should have cell phones in cars. I have seen numerous times when people were on the phone chatting and driving. I think it is just an accident waiting to happen. |
