I Hate This!!!

Today as I was on my way to the mall I saw a the cutest dog running around on my street. He didnt have a collar on and I could tell he was hungry. Well when I got back from the mall about 2 hours later he was still running around...when he saw me get off the car he ran up to me and followed me to my door. I'm an animal lover so I got some food and he ate it like in 5 seconds. It breaks my heart to see animals that have no home or have owners that dont care for them the proper way. If it was up to me I would keep every stray animal I saw on the streets.

Does anyone else feel this way when they see a stray animal? or what have you done for an animal that wasnt yours?

After I fed the dog...he took off and I havent seen him since...so hopefully someone found him and is taking care of him.

Date: 11/4/2002 7:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 36538    I also hate seeing these poor strays. I am a huge animal lover and wish I could take in every stray that I see. I just really wish something else could be done for these poor animals.
Date: 11/4/2002 7:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 54968    Aww I am a huge animal lover too. I hate seeing poor dogs with no owner
Date: 11/4/2002 7:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 56381    Awww. Yes I do that all the time I cant help it. I feel so bad for them :) Good for you :) xoxo,
Date: 11/4/2002 7:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 50791    That kinda thing makes me cry! A few weeks ago there was a dog walking just outside my fence and you could tell she had puppies somewhere cause she was sagging. She was all boney and I felt so bad for her and her babies so I pulled all kinds of food outta the fridge and threw it over the fence for her. I was afraid to touch her cause she may have had rabies or something but anyway, I fed her lots of food! It was good food too! She got 1/2 lb of turkey and some bread and some spaghetti and another 1/2 lb of pastrami. After I fed her all of it and she ate it I started to wonder if she would get sick from going so long without food and then eating that much. I saw her a few more times after that then I didn't see her anymore so she musta moved away.
Date: 11/4/2002 7:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    Glad to see other animal lovers...Willow that was great of you to feed her all that food. Having a full stomach is better than an empty one. I wonder where her puppies were though. It brings me to tears also...cause they are just such innocent creatures who deserve love and a home. thanks for the replies ladies.
Date: 11/4/2002 7:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hiya Looney Girl..:) well, I've not owned a pet for many years...But, seems that I am never without one..lol..Dogs and cats just wander in and demand to be fed. My budget includes about fifty pounds of pet food..Hmmmmm..My associate is even worse than I am..She can't see a hungry animal..gotta feed it. Other day, I wanted some milk and she told me, "I gave what was left of the milk to Moon." (stray cat)...lol..Stay sweet and kind hearted, my friend...Write on.....
Date: 11/4/2002 7:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    Almost all the pets I own are stray animals or unwanted ones. They usually turn out to be very nice pets. Except one, that we nicknamed "mean dog". I think his previous owners abused him and dumped him. Then we took him in and he attacked my little brother.
Date: 11/4/2002 7:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    LOL...maybe thats why you always get stray animals cause you dont have any of your own. I was thinking of buying dog food and cat food for when I see another stray animal...its a good idea to have their kind of food laying around cause you never know right? so the cat got milk before you did huh?? LOL...I'm sure the cat needed it more than you anyway. thanks for the reply...keep feeding the strays as well :)
Date: 11/4/2002 7:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 45619    yeah i hate it when people neglect their dogs or animals like that. i think people should be kind to their pets. i remember, our first dog was abused by her first family when she was a puppy, and she wouldn't even go down stairs when we got her because they had kicked her down the stairs so many times. but all she needed was a good home where the people loved her and took care of her. so next time someone sees a stray dog they should take it to the humane society or something so it has a chance at a good home.
Date: 11/4/2002 7:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 35114    Sad! We have taken in two strays cats and taken care of many sick or injured wild animals. Mostly we take 'em to the wild animal refuge (right down the road ^_^).
Date: 11/4/2002 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 55023    there was always this little yorkshire terrier running around where my cousins used to live and little kids would throw rocks and stuff at it all the time and pick it up by its hair, it was terrible, so my cousin took him in and took care of him, i love that dog! its sad how people can do that kind of stuff for their own weird benefit...
Date: 11/4/2002 8:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    Good for you Alien...that is the scary thing though about strays is most come from some abusive home but its but its not their fault. sorry he attacked your lil brother...so what did you do with the dog after that?
Date: 11/4/2002 8:07:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    I agree 100% with you fire angel...good for you for taking good care of your puppy...poor thing. My aunt got a beautiful cocktiel bird but it came from a crack house...so for a long time my aunt couldnt get near the cage cause the bird would attack...the previous owners used to blow smoke in her face....so she is really scared of people. thanks for you reply.
Date: 11/4/2002 8:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    Kawaii injured animals is really bad also..poor things...luckily you live close to a wild animal refuge...and thats really great of you to care for not only strays but injured and sick animals as well. Thanks for the reply.
Date: 11/4/2002 8:12:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    Sloopy that is really sad...if I see someone abusing an animal I'll make sure they pay for what they've done. Animals cant really defend themselves. your cousin did a great thing by taking him in...some people just have twisted minds to hurt innocent animals. thanks for the reply. :)
Date: 11/4/2002 8:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    Yeah, my and my mother are huge animal lovers. It breaks my heart seeing animals like that, my mom worked in an animal shelter, and was a vet for over 20 years, she said its unbeleiveable some of the things you see there:( .One of our dogs is a rescue dog, her old owners let her run about on her own, and they had cyotees!(sp?) She is VERY lucky that shes not dead, shes just an itty bitty dog. They just let her run wild, she was surviving off of sneaking into people dog/kitty doors, and eating cat food!:(
Date: 11/4/2002 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 51407    Of course... I love animals, and I hate it when owners don't take care of them. Of course, we have 4 animals and we let them go around the neighborhood, but everyone knows them so if they do see them, they either bring them back to our door or just say, "Hi Ruby! Hi Jack!" lol.. Our dog is so fat because we're scared we don't feed her enough. =P Luv,
Date: 11/4/2002 8:38:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    MoonAngel I bet your mom saw a lot of terrible things working at that shelter and as a vet. I thought about becoming a vet but I would become so attached to the animals so I dont think I would have been able to handle it. Poor doggy...but at least she was smart enough to go through doggy doors to eat food even if it didnt belong to her...animals do anything to survive. thanks for the comment. :)
Date: 11/4/2002 8:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    LOL Lady thats good that everyone knows who your animals are...I bet its nice to let them run free and have fun knowing they will be safe. Its sad to see skinny animals but I'm not sure its a good idea for an animal to be obese...I feed my bird everything that I eat and people say he is the biggest cocktiel they have ever seen but I think he is just adorable...LOL...I bet your dog is adorable too. :)
Date: 11/4/2002 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 59639    I am such an animal lover, anytime i see a stray dog or sumthin i have to feed it and give it some water....it jus breaks my heart to see people neglecting their pets *Kandi*
Date: 11/4/2002 9:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    i am exactly the same. i have a real soft spot for animals and it makes me really mad to see them abused/neglected like that
Date: 11/4/2002 9:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    I am the same way. It also makes me sick to see someone get a pet then abandon it because they think it's too much trouble.
Date: 11/4/2002 9:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 36766    my mom is like that, she will feed every stray animal that walks near the house...at one time we had like 10 or 11 cats outside, ya couldnt even walk out onto the back porch w/o being bombarded by a cat...thank god we're only down to 2 cats now...we dont know where all of the cats went to, hopefully they have homes now...every once in a while a few of em come back to visit us lol
Date: 11/4/2002 10:40:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    Thanks Kandi, SunAngel, Apryl, and Baby for the replies...I feel much better knowing that their are so many other animal lovers with big hearts.
Date: 11/14/2002 10:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 50193    That recently happend to Lia and I as well.
