I don't like re-makes of movies, and I was doing my homework so I did not see it. It would make a little more sense though, because I think in Carrie II The Rage the gym teacher becomes Rachel's (almost like Carrie) counselor. She couldn't do that if she were dead. |

Alien in Carrie II The Rage the counselor is the one and only chick that survived in the first one. You know one of the chicks that was laughing at her in the shower and that became friends with her. She made it out alive and then spent her years teaching at the new high school they built down the road from where Carrie torched the first one. The actual Gym teacher died. |

No Sue Snell was the counselor in the second film. This new version followed the book closer except for the "surprise" ending. And the thing with the asteroids - they were just supposed to be stones - but they changed it. |

Amy Irving is the actress, she plays a teenager in the first one and in the second one she is an adult and is the guidance counselor at the school. |

LOL I am a guy and a HUGE Carrie fan and my mom laughed because I started crying when Carrie comes out and sees that Tommy has arrived in a limo. LOL. She laughed too because the original film and this film follow the book pretty close and I was reciting lines left and right and marking out the stuff that was in the novel but not the original film (i.e. the destruction of Chamberlain - the town). I wish they had included the scene from the novel where she makes the power lines fall and electrocute all the nosey people that were filling the streets. |

I also liked the whole wrap-around story with the investigation into the Prom Massacre - I found it far superior to the whole Carrie White Commission in the original novel. It seemed a bit more realistic. |

Amy Irving also came out in a film The Fury which was somewhat similar - it was about telekinesis and made a few years later...by Brian De Palma as well I believe. |

Its showing right now..I'm not sure if I like it when original scary movies are remade. Sometimes its better to just leave them the way they were...but i do agree that the gym teacher shouldnt have died in the original...she was nice. |

I hated that they cut out the scene between Carrie and Ms. Desjardin before she accepts Tommy's invitation where Ms. Desjardin is telling Carrie that she "a very pretty girl..." and is cheering her up and making her feel good. That scene was lacking in this new version. Also, Mrs. White was a prominent character. I like the change they did to her but they should have kept her as a main character and threat. Her demise which stuck to the novel was good but I have a guilty love for her demise in the original film... |

LOL a excerpt from the ACTUAL Carrie: The Musical - Mrs. White: "That's what the boys do! There'll be promises! They will break your heart! Then they'll laugh at you, watching you fall apart! Don't you think that I know? Don't you think this has happened before?..." |

I watched it, I didn't really like it as much as the original. I think Stephen King ruins his movies when he redoes them... just like he ruined The Shining in his little tv remake of it. |

i think they need to stop killing classics.. it was a classic for a reason.. most remakes are horrid to the orignals.. it looked fake.. the acting.. was bad.. the girl they cast as carrie... she didn't suite the role... i just think it looks like a cheap TV movie(well that is what it was) compared to a classic... knowing Stephen King it will be out to buy on VHS in a few months |

I watched it, and I thought it was pretty good. Though I do think that they went a little too far when she started blowing up the entire town. It looked way to fake. Besides that, I thought it was alright. GC GravityGirl GC |

Stephen King didn't remake Carrie ... this was the work of someone else. LOL. And actually The Shining miniseries worked not as a horror film but as a more accurated depiction of the novel. Oh, the town destruction is much worst in the novel. Pretty much the entire town is leveled and results in a HUGE investigation into the events that occured in Chamberlain. |

The acting did reek of made-for-tv-iness but it made sense because the original was a bit over the top and here they played it down so much that it was people just saying dialogue....like they do in real life. (I loved the scene with the falling stones - it was cut from the original film but was a key scene in the opening of the novel.) |

I think if they took the script, tweaked it here and there, did away with the awful "surprise ending" [which actually some people knew about because the plan was to build a series around the film if it worked out - kind of like with that current Stephen King series on USA] - it could have made a good theatrical film. The effects would have been better and (not that I like it) more profanity could have been used. Half the time you knew the characters would cuss but they said dumb things that were childish LOL. |

I thought it was awesome. I loved the fact that the teacher didnt die. And I also liked the fact that a lot of people at the dance really didnt laugh at her. In the old movie they make it look like everyone is laughing at her and I never knew whenther or not it was in her head or they were really laughing.I didnt like the very end though in the car. I thought that was kind of strange. But I liked that fact that she lived too. |
