Falling into deeper waters,
Where no one can survive alone.
Screaming out, "Will no one help me?
Will no one take me home?"
Plunging farther into Darkness,
Where not a happy soul has been.
Sinking swiftly under the surface,
Away from the minds of men.
No one caring, no one paying,
Any heed at all.
This one life has suddenly become,
Insignificant and small.
After the mind has plummeted,
After the spirit has died,
Will they ever again be happy?
Or even smile inside?
But what has happened to all the young ones,
To make them take this leap,
Into the Lake of Darkness,
Where there is no wake or sleep?
One girl was sexually abused
By the hand of her own dad.
And yet another’s cat was slaughtered;
There are a million reasons to be sad.
A million souls in deeper waters,
Where no one can survive alone.
Will no one come and save them?
Will no one take them home?
Writer’s Note: The Lake of Darkness is referring to the horrible emotion of depression and "take them home" means, "take them to get help out of this state of mind."
