Of course....they had fallen long beofre because they had followed Satan....The Offspring of the "Sons of God and the daughters of men"was destroyed in the flood.....Acording to a prophecy from JEsus...this will happen again in the end times....some even say it is happening wit hso called"Aliens"...who knows?......I do Know after the flood, they had offspring with Humans again...but David and others killed them...they are the Rephraim.... Hi Celtic, I just saw Your post requesting info about the Nephilim. Some faiths say that the nephilim were the 1/3 of the fallen angels who were booted out of heaven along with Satan. The other explanation and the one I believe to be the truth is based on other ancient writings from an earlier period in time. The world is in possession of the original trra cotta writings which tll the whole story of who the Nephilim were. The story is much too long to tell it here in a message. Basically the Nephilim were beings who came from the skies to the earth. They built cities and taught man how to grow food and plant gardens. They taught us astronomy, architecture, hygeine and pretty well everything we need to survive as a species. Anyway these beings, after modifying mankind by blending thier DNA with ours changed us in appearance and much so in intelligence. As time went on these visitors got loely here on thier outpost earth. They did indeed look at earthwomen and find them beautiful and they did accept them as wives and have offspring. The off spring were very bright and gifted individuals the head of the expedition was angry that the bloodlines of the earth creature had blended with thier bloodlines. Sorry for babbling on so long but I love the subject. Anyway if You want to know more let me know. Its incredibly interesting stuff. You can also check out an author by the name of Zecharia Sitchin. He has aboput 10 books out on the subject. His website is sitchin.com but about the only stuff he has on the site is current news and discoveries that add creedance to what the Sumerians wrote long before Abraham was even born. Bye for now. A good non canonical book to read is the Book of Enoch. You can find it free on the web. According to it, there where about 200 angels that came down to reproduce with women. Their offspring were noted to be giants or mighty men of old. According to Enoch, the offspring war with each other and the humans. The angels that came to earth also taught man war and weapons and stuff like that. Well, when the angels realize that God is going to punish them, they appeal to Enoch. God still punishes them by binding them and putting them either in the ocean or in the abyss, I can't remember. Anyways, of course, eventually God has to flood the world as a result of it. This was a attempt to rid the world of pure blooded humans. See God told Adam and Eve that he was going to send a Messiah in the flesh to save mankind. Well, Satan knew that if he could elimnate all pure flesh, God would have not been able to keep this promise. Anyways, this is where most of the myths of old religions come from. Like Heracules and the such. From culture to culture they "heroes" of old pretty much stay the same, only their names seem to change. I guess the last disturbing thing is, fallen angels still bred with woman AFTER the flood and it's possible that they still do. Oh Yes,, The infamous Book of Enoch!!!! Hi Celtic, The Book of Enoch is a book that the Catholic Church ordered completely destroyed. For centuries they thought they had succeeded but about in the 1800's a copy was found in Ethiopia. Just for the record in the book of Enoch it says that the Nephilim were 300 cubits tall. That would make them far larger than the largest dinosaur. I used the smallest estimate of what a cubit was and that would make the Nephilim 450 feet tall. Its kind of ridiculous to think that earth women bred with 450 foot tall creatures. There is lots of other ridiculous claims in the book of Enoch as well, it is no wonder the christian church tried to destroy all copies of that book as it is full of ignorance and must be quite embarrassing to them that it is back in circulation.Bye for now. Well I'm a Christian and study the Book of Enoch as well as others. An embarrassment? Nah. It sheds a lot of light on Genesis. The measurement you are speaking of, if memory serves me well, is the Nil I believe. Also the smallest measurement of this is the Scottish translation, again if memory serves me well. This is a bad translation indeed. The problem is, we aren't sure what language Enoch wrote in. Plus, he lived PRIOR to the flood and PRIOR to the Tower of Babel in which God confused the speech of mankind. It is NOT known if Enoch's or the "original" language made it through these two events. On top of that, the suriving copies were Ethopic, not a common language, even today. I think the conclusion any educated person should draw is that Angels and their offspring were taller then humans. Note Golaith and his brothers. They were grandchildren of angel/human procreation and they were well up to 10 feet in hieght. Another physical problem was one had extra toes and fingers, yet another possible difference or perversion due to this union. Enki, I am shocked that you would dismiss a entire work based off a odd translation, or claims that YOU feel are ridiculous. The Book of Enoch is FULL of symbolism, but I'm guessing you are taking those literal to satisfy your dismissal of it. Yet Sitchin's theories make 100% sense to you don't they? Out with one "kookie" book and in with another! Go planet X! I've read Sitchin too, intersting, I'm guessing you started out with the other author who wrote Chariots of the Gods, yes? Six Gun, That's true. But there's a good chance that it is the same one, or I should say pieces of it. The early chruch had it, but due to it's content they banned it all together. Anyways though, due to Ethoipia being quite seperated from the geography of the "church" they were able to hold on to there pieces of it. Now I do think other books, say the Book of Jasher, are not the ones mentioned in the Bible. But, I do believe they are rooted in truth and recommend both Enoch and Jasher. |
