If you misspelled something on your post, would you be offended or grateful if someone told you?

I personally would like to know but I would prefer a message instead of in a comment. However that wouldn't really bother me either. I have never mentioned to anyone when i notice incorrect spelling. How would you feel? And what about incorrect facts? Do you want people to inform you?

Date: 11/23/2002 5:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 36538    Like you, I've never commented to someone that they've mispelled something on their post. I just look over it.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 52866    I would prefer to be told
Date: 11/23/2002 5:21:00 PM  ( Admin-V )   ok but how would you feel if someone commented to you? and moon girl i am assuming that you do not want to know?? of course no one is perfect. i would want to correct my error b4 more ppl see it, but i would not want to be told in the comments, however i wouldnt be offended.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 30986    It's happened to me before and although embarrassing I found it funny. I don't mind when people point out my mistakes. How else do we learn from them? Although I do think it needs to be done either in Author only or a Private message IN A NICE WAY, some people get their feelings hurt easily.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:23:00 PM  ( Admin-V )   i agree kysta.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I only point out misspellings to those here I'm close to and I do it in a teasing manner.....so I make light of the situation *pokes mg and kysta* right girls!? LOL hehe normally it's the 'funny' ones that I point out....Ya know the kind that when their misspelled it means something TOTALLY different....
Date: 11/23/2002 5:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 23610    I don't think it is really necessary to point it out. First of all, we all make typos so who's to say it isn't just a typo....and even at that, I'm sure that if someone can tell that a word is misspelled than they obviously knew what it was the other person was trying to write....so the message came across just fine....which is the main issue. Secondly, not everyone wants to have their spelling errors pointed out, especially since we don't all know each other that well and the message can be misinterpreted to mean that they are looking down on the person for bad spelling....which then makes people who do not spell well anyway feel uncomfortable and maybe even hesistant to post anything or comment.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    I don't say anything for I make enough of my own mistakes. But tactful in a pm message about certain other facts would be fine.
Date: 11/23/2002 5:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    I would rather be told, so I could fix the error. If it's not too bad I usually don't mention it though. But if things are really misspelled in the title I don't even read it, why should I waste my time reading something that someone didn't even care to put much effort forth in?
Date: 11/23/2002 5:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 55533    It depends on how they say it! Blah! This jerk said i misspelled something and she made a big deal of it. So i messaged her giving hints of how rude she was and she just said that she hates it when something is misspelled!! UGH!!!!
Date: 11/23/2002 6:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 13283    I would be very grateful if they were nice , telling me about it . Its much better if they told you in the AUTHOR ONLY mode . Thats how i bring typos to other members attention . :) Razzy aka
Date: 11/23/2002 6:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 30630    I can't spell!! LOL Point it out to me. :P
Date: 11/23/2002 6:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I just expect honesty. Tell it like it is.
Date: 11/23/2002 6:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 51393    First i think its wrong to voluntarily correcting anyone at all.Without the approval of who to be corrected .Would definitely has shown a rude attitude. It is the same as asking if you created a post and yet not your work and ask you if who is the solemn owner of such creation. It all comes down to respect one another. In a sense an old fashioned speaks*Don't dish out what you can take in*Respect one another sometimes so difficult to do.It seems others perspective in life refrains to a small space *Itself Only Matters* .If others don't see such issue do occur then it is*US* do have a problem.Lets say these generalization a little more depth in life example:As smart as you are sometimes flaws do come perfections are never there. No such thing as perfect in human life, that for a fact would not make any difference what professions individual has.I apologized for rambling but i have spoken my heart into this subject. It is just a thought ....
Date: 11/23/2002 7:22:00 PM  ( Admin-V )   diana thank you for your comment. plz fee free to speak your peace any time.
Date: 11/23/2002 7:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 51393    Correction*Dont dish out what you cant take in* lol :o).Thank you Vadia*hugs*
Date: 11/23/2002 7:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 25756    I really wouldn't care if a person told me...as long as they weren't mean about it. Im' a bit of a "perfectionist" at spelling..lol I HATE it when I misspell or see a misspelled word...I never usually say anything about it though lol :o)
Date: 11/23/2002 7:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 36994    I don't think I would mind, but as soon as I were to find out, bam! Into the story, and boom clicking update :)
Date: 11/23/2002 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    I think I would be ok with someone private messaging me or telling me in author only that I had a spelling error..I dont know if I would want it publicly announced though..LOL
Date: 11/24/2002 6:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 56147    I'm from norway, so I do misspell things all the time!!! And I like when ppl tell me in Author only (hint hint)
Date: 11/24/2002 6:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 44321    I would not mind as long as it was not done rudely :)I am famous for typos in my posts that I don't catch sometimes but so far nobody has mentioned them to me LOL
Date: 11/24/2002 11:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 61931    as long as someone informs me nicely i like it!
Date: 11/24/2002 3:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 55533    61931 is very true!!
