Right befoer my period I gain about 5 pounds then suddenly it is gone by the time it is over. Makes it a pain to fit in those pants that I cannot exhale in to begin with...LOL  |

i don't get it very often but yes your period will cause bloating lol I've only gotten really bad cramps once so you are not alone with getting starnge stuff :)  |

I get bloated when I have my period. Actually I used to get sick to my tummy and throw up sometimes and get a fever and have cramps so bad that I had to stay home. That's when it first started for the 1st 6 years of it but it's gotten better as I grow older. Thank GOD cause I hated that so much! UGH The past 3 or 4 years havn't been that bad.  |

"retaining water" means that your body holds on to the water instead of passing it through your system. Too much salt just before your period adds to the effect... Dang those cravings for potato chips! :o)  |
