I think that I've got some of life figured out, and it was pointed out to me today that we don't have to stumble through life to find who we really are. I personally believe that God even's out the good with the bad. Some people are born into wealth & priviledge. They get the opportunities & possess the blood-line for inevitable success. Some people search for penny's to buy bread or a soda-pop. They get no breaks, For every step they take forward- they take 2 steps backwards. Their lives are day-to-day and most likely will always be. The rich people don't "buy here, pay here", they just "buy". The poor people buy everything somewhere, and pay for everything they buy somewhere. The rich hang out at the country club, the poor people fill the smoke-wrenched bingo halls. It's a vicious circle, but it doesn't fail to surpass the differences/ and there really aren't that many.....................
People of all indigence or wealth, go to worship God, pray for unselfish things. People of poverty or people of financial security- love to watch it snow, they love to listen to music, they love children, they love to pet puppy's, and beautiful days. I wonder though, do rich people love life and use their means to make a difference? I wonder. Do people who struggle through each day, with love holding their family together- are they happy? How important are materialistic things, when a family fights to stay together through the worst of times and through the greatest of times. All they have is each other. Do Cadilac's and a stack of money bring happiness to the table? Do expensive suits, offices, brief cases, titles, big bonus checks, and 4-star credit automatically give one the emotional balance we all need, does all that money buy- buy a ticket to heaven?
I live in a town that is separated into five groups: RICH, POOR, WHITE, BLACK, & MEXICAN. It's another classic town, full of empty buildings, but transients stay homeless on the street. Which, to me, is one of the great unsolved mysteries. Why in a civilized society, we have starving & homeless people? Looking through dumpsters for food that looks salvagable. Children who ran away to escape abuse and violence. Elderly people, with illness's, laying on concrete and calling cardboard boxes home. Meanwhile how many empty buildings are sitting in this country? How about these athletes making absolutely ridiculous amounts of money- to be mediocre most of the time? Let's pitch in to build some homeless communities. How about the Elizabeth Taylors & Dick Clarks holding a meeting of the stars- to see how much could be raised to build communities for homeless and hungry people, who are just like you & me. How about Aerosmith & The Rolling Stones calling an emergency session to sign on as many musical acts as possible to build some housing for "homeless people"? .........
What a daydream. Tomorrow, we wake up and go right back to the daily grind. The bets will be placed on football and college basketball. The busybee world will spin as fast as usual, tragedy, death, and destruction will occur as we live out the prophecies of the Bible. All we own, is simply temporary, it stays when we go. It's our hearts that we need to clean up, it's love we need to restore and rely. We need to change the entire mindset of this society, start from scratch, and destroy the ninetendo, the diablo, the satanic music, the vampire cults, trash television, violence, profanity, suggestive sexual situations, MTV, VHl, ritilin, and just start over.........................
