What do you do when someone comes to the door that you don't like/ wanna see ?

If I really hate them, I'll complain of "female problems", & shut the door. Hopefully, they will leave. I just had some Jehovah's witnessness come and they made me mad. There where nice enought, but thet seemed like they wanted me to just ask them in for tea and cookies. LOL What would you do ? Feedback is welcome. Thank you!

Date: 11/25/2002 10:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 8941    Most of the time now, I won't even go to the door...I'll hide until they go away...lol.
Date: 11/25/2002 10:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 46527    I tel them that I am busy, if they are 'religious visitors' then I tell them that I have my own beliefs with which I am quite happy, they usually leave, if not then I just state my case again until they DO leave!
Date: 11/25/2002 10:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 3648    I act like I'm not home lol....I turn the tv off and get real quiet lol...book sales ppl are one of the worse....a guy went to the house next door and he was told I wasn't home and not to bother going to my house well the guy didn't listen after "pretending" I wasn't home the guy drove his car over the side of my driveway (it's on a hill) lol....I had to quit pretending so he could use the phone to call a tow truck....geez sometimes it can backfire on ya lol....

Date: 11/25/2002 11:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    It would be much easier to kindly and firmly tell JW's that you are not interested in what they have to say..That way you are being totally honest. They will leave you alone unless they haven't notified another group of JW's..If someone else knocks on your door from the group, refuse their booklets and kindly tell them the same thing you told the other group..That's the nice and simple way of solving the problem.
Date: 11/25/2002 11:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 38278    Let them get one foot in and then slam the door on them. LOL!
Date: 11/25/2002 12:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 13546    Usually if I am home alone and someone comes to my door and I don't know them, I will not open the door for them. So I really don't have that problem. But if I did, I would just tell them "Sorry, not interested" and just close the door.
Date: 11/25/2002 12:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 58308    I point to the signs that say, "NO TRESPASSING!" Politely say good-bye and shut the door. Hugs! Zeeboette
Date: 11/25/2002 12:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 58308    I remember a time when my hubby and I were out in the yard working. Two very nice ladies drove up in our driveway. At the time... we had a HUGE Greatdane named Molly McButter (she is now in doggy heaven). When the ladies car stopped, Molly went right to the drivers door and sat there, she wouldn't let her get out of her car. Obviously, the lady was a little scared of Molly so she rolled her window down only a couple of inches and raised her head to talk through the crack, "Does your dog bite?" My hubby asked her if she was a JW and she said "yes". Gary said, "Well, my dog bites then." She politely rolled her window up and backed out of the drive. LOL Just thought I would share. Hugs! Date: 11/25/2002 4:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    for starters I dont hate anyone lol!!! when the JW's come to our door, I call my husband to talk to them as he baffles them with the questions he asks them about the bible, my dear old daddy (bless him) when he was alive would do the same thing and he was raised in a convent and knew the bible really well, he used to quiz them..but really they are nice people and are only trying to spread their word aren't they??? I could never be rude to them and I respect their views on religion even if they are not mine...hugs Zema
Date: 11/25/2002 5:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    We never open the door for visitors unless it's dad, our next door neighbor and somebody like the UPS guy and the mailman. If we look out and it's anyone else, we just stay quiet and wait for them to go away.
