Although I am very honored to be nominated; and wish to thank those who put forth my name for this committee; I must decline. The reason for this is that there are a couple of nominees I know would not be nominated nor should they be IF it were made public the FACT that they have been very deceitful; they have exibited conduct so blatantly the opposite (in the background, messages and e-mails to other USM'ers) of that which I would want to or WHO I would want to serve with. Furthermore, I feel that ANYONE who is ask to be on a committee should be required to answer (publicly) a set of questions ( questions could be suggested and then a selection of the best ones would be posted for the nominees) and the results should be based on the BEST answers to those questions. Kinda like the Presidential debates we see on TV? *wink* Anyway, I was away when all the talk about this was going on, and had very little or no access to a computer.  |

I want to thank those who nominated me but I'm not elegible. This all came about two weeks or so before my first anniversary. We all have vote now and all I can say is there are just couple who I truly hope do not make it on the committee. I didn't say that to be rude. I'm just telling it like it is. This should all be fair that there are a select few who hate me for no good reason at all. If this was a court of law, I could have sued for millions for dollars for slander but I'm not that sort of a guy. All I want is to get along with everybody. If you love me, that's great. I would like to be honest here. I have mixed feeling about being nominated for the committee. I think THINKERS idea is a good one. I do not believe in campaigning for this position, but I do think that to keep it NOT being a popularity contest, we should be required to answer a few questions, perhaps posed by the admins or some other group. I accept, and if nothing else we need to bring about the equal application of standards and rules without regard to personal bias and the "Cliques" that seem to form. Management skills and leadership will make this work. "Fair" is a nice concept but will never work since everyones opinion of "fair" is different. Unbiased judgement and feedback to members, secrecy breeds mistrust. In addition I'd ask admin to review the one year rule in Franks case and put him on the ballot. He's an element of balance and diversity that would serve well. There is no doubt an element of hostility between him and other nominees and even myself, but in a situation like this some dissention could probably give credibility to the process.  |

It's the past, questions seem like a very VERY good idea. And, one more tidbit........This is not the place to argue and get miffy. lol Just lay back, relax and enjoy the scenery. I apologize if this offends some but I feel this is the best time to say this..If I would become involved or have to deal with some of the childish things that are going on here, I don't think I would find too much peace of mind. Some of the recent emails I have received would be enough to cause me to become very frustrated if I would allow it.. Please..Whoever is sending me those ridiculous emails..TAKE MY NAME OFF YOUR LIST..I am not interested in gossip nor in childish arguments. Who cares about the, "he said, she said" types of emails? Not me!! I don't like vulgar words with the "f*ing this or f*ing that" types of emails. I was told by another that I should not be allowed to run for the committee due to my being previously banned. they assumed there was good reason for this...assumed!!! I thought that this is what the committee would be there for...to make sure their were no more assumptions and more fairness. i am sooo sick of the drama and immaturity and quite frankly the blind leading the blind mentality of this place. I do not need net stress to interfere. I am ready to go beyond all of this gossip and fighting, I can handle the stress of just about anything. I think the one thing we need are people like CD blossom, Rusure, Persephone, Karma Killer, Six Gun, The Thinker, LSR, Lady Luck, as well as a few others. These people to me are strong, wether they say so or not. This comitte has gone under fire by nominees, and people who are not nominees, and some admins as well. I thought this was supposed to be a good thing. I will never recind my nomination. And for the good of USM and fairness of it all, I hope I do get voted on. I do not work, I am pregnant, and I am just about as strong as a person can get. I am not unfair or unjust at all, and hope you people do not think that way of me. If I didn't fit this criteria, I would not have been here for nearly 3 years now, and fought as hard as I have to show people that I do truly care obout this sort of thing. Yes, my mom is admin. Maybe that is why I like this site so much, BUT I doubt it. When I came here to USM it was not the place it has turned out to be, and If I as one person, let alone a whole comitee can preserve a bit of the past, then so be it, I will keep trying until it is achieved. And I am like many others, there are a few I would like to see not on this comitee, but hey, Rumors and gossip are al I know of these people. Maybe for my own good, and for the good of my mind, I should talk to them, and see what it is they are all about instead of throwing off accusations. I still accept.. but II wanted to say a few things that have been on my mind. I'm thankful for this post being in debate, because there is no way to delete the comments. There have been a few people that jumped at the chance to accept, and then backed out for one reason or another. I am glad that they decided agenst it before the voting, not after. I give them alot of credit for taking the time to decide if this was what they really wanted..and steping up and admiting that it wasn't before it was too late...The people that do accept should know that it's not going to be easy all the time, and dropping out later would not be a good idea because any Committee is only as strong as it's weakest link! All involved should be doing this as a way to help, and not stir up more trouble in the prosess. It's not a way to make friends or keep friends..it's to come to the best decision as a group. The people on this committee should be able to take an objective view on the issue, work well with others, and come to a common goal.. quickly and with little drama. I think this WILL work but, the people working on this should think hard about the final outcome. I have taken a look at all the people who are willing to devote there time ..( for free,lol) to this site, and that says something for them all in it's self. The people accepting this must care alot about USM, to want to help make it a better place. |

As I stated in a previous post regarding this matter, I must respectfully decline the nomination made for me. I believe I have a lot to offer the committee and the site and I find the idea of the committee very intriguing, however, I don't wish to serve at this time. I would be willing to help in any capacity that would allow for limited involvement - ie ideas and input. I sincerely hope that the committee will consider utilising me in this capacity. My main reason for not accepting the nomination is that I'm so busy with my other three continuous web projects, that I wouldn't have the proper time to dedicate to the venture. I however, do wish the best for USM as it has been my inspiration in my coding and web design. My personal life is just far too hectic: with teaching a class at WSU and working full time for Midwest and dabbling in my other hobbies and trying to help my husband care for our home and our pets - I have very little time left to give. However, I'm a good ideas person and a good sounding board. If the site wishes to utilise me in that capacity I would be happy to oblige. I think that there are others with more time, energy and passion to give to this committee and who would do a far better job as they have the ability to give more of themselves to the effort. Thank you to those that nominated me and anyone who was considering voting for me. ------------ On a side note I wish to say that I am not declining my nomination because of others and what they are saying - in fact I haven't heard any of those rumours. I honestly don't have the time to give to this effort. To those of you who have hung in there, unwavering from the get-go, you have my vote without a doubt. I admire those of you with the courage and fortitude to stand up and face gossip, ridicule, liable, insults, etc. It shows your true character and those who can stand up for what is right in the face of adversity are what this committee needs. I have not received the emails, I don't care what was said about me or others, if I had been in that meeting and had been fighting for this from the beginning - no amount of gossip, naysayers, or immaturity on the part of others would keep me down - I would stay on that ballot to the end irregardless. I firmly believe in following one's convictions, no matter what one must face to do so. I wouldn't have let them have the satisfaction of knowing their childish ways ran me off the ballot. I would have been there to see it through. Those of you that have done that definitely have my vote because I see in you, the value and importance you place on this committee and I see that you won't back down in the heat and passion of the important issues. Well I accept my nomination wholeheartedly, although I wnt out of town for Thanksgiving and didn't return untill late last night. I didn't log on to my computer so I recieved your email this morning, KK. I believe there has to be a sence of equality restored here at USM. The element that I see as being most important is consistancy...consistancy needs to be improved within the rules and interperetation of those rules here at USM. What is right for one, should also be right for another. Although things are busy here, and EVERYONE wants to maintain the atmosphere of fun and family we have all come to love this place for, I think that SOME uniform practice would lend credence to admins and an bolster an overall sence of brotherhood among the WHOLE of USM. If you cannot accept my nomination, I can understand as I am a few hours shy of the deadline....but you can bet your butt that I will accept any future nominations as well. I love this place and the people here. I definately see room for improvement with clear eyes.  |
