Turkey, turkey, and more turkey. Thanksgiving is all about the bird in my opinion. For some reason my Mom invited all these random people to our house to eat so we had to get this huge turkey so there would be plenty left for me. Go turkey! I also like this fruit salad my Mom makes. It's really good. I could eat an entire bowl in one sitting. As long as my Thanksgiving meal consists of turkey and that salad, I don't care what else goes on. |

I never used to care that much what I had on Thanksgiving...some turkey, gravy, potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce, and pie was fine with me. Now that I'm married and have a child...I'm starting to learn to have traditions and create an atmosphere for Thanksgiving. I just finished making the ambrosia, Waldorf salad, greenbean casserole, and some kind of homemade mashed sweet potatoes and pears with a praline topping (LOL...I have no idea what it is called)....oh and of course a cherry pie. The turkey will be done tomorrow along with the rest of the side dishes (mashed potatoes, rolls, relish tray, etc). Man...who knew traditions were so exhausting! |

We are going to my husbands-mothers house for lunch and my nephews house for dinner. What I love is the cornbread dressing and cranberry jellied sauce and sweet potato pie, that is all I really need. Of course I indulge in everything else and go to bed hating myself for eating all day. You know its ike you aren't going to get anything else to eat until next year,ha ha!! |
