My D.N.A Question...

Dear USMers...

Hello! As you may already know I have finally found my biological father "Mr Jimmie Davis". I spoke with him on the phone earlier today (November 27,2002) and he boldly told me to my broken heart that he will be glad to take a DNA test. Now I know that to take a DNa test it is as simple as swabing the inner mouth of the partys involved. But where do I go to get it done? Do I get it done at a medical center or can I get it done at a hospital?

Please tell me because I want to prove to myself that he is my biological father? I am eagerly awaiting for all of your input on this senario. I have until Monday December 2nd 2002 to give him my say on the case. And also is it possible to have a DNA test done on two people who live in two different countrys. My dad lives in Louisiana and I live in Montreal Quebec Canada.

Date: 11/27/2002 9:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 19875    You would both have to go to the same hospital I believe. If you're not sure where to get it done then go to your closest hospital or health unit and ask.
Date: 11/27/2002 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 42519    I think that Jerry springer or Jenny jones does stuff like that.. LOL.. Just kidding. I would check with your local police or hospital. I think that would be the best place to go.. Love ya tonz and good luck.

Date: 11/28/2002 4:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    My son and his then wife were separated when she got pregnant with her now two year old child. When she was born, they put my son down as the father of the child. My son now lives in VA and he just had a DNA test done and he remained in VA but the child lives in Ohio. The DNA testing was done without either being together. My suggestion is that you call a local hospital and ask them for the nearest DNA testing center..Your father would also have to do the same. You will be expected to pay for the test unless it is an order of the court, which then in many cases, if you cannot pay, then the state picks up on the tab..
