That is a really good comparison. And it IS very true. It is hard for us to understand just how loving God really is. He not only created us in his image and gave us a free will so that we may love him. He also gave us his only son as a savior and redeemer. I dont think anyone could do what God has done for us. And I know I definitely wouldnt be able to give up my child to save someone else. Nice Story! ~Wuzzable~ |

I don't have any children of my own yet, but I can honestly say that if I were put in that situation, I would not do it. |

I personally believe that if you have kids, they should be your FIRST priority, no one else. I also believe that Jesus came here to try to teach us to give as we expect to get, unfortunately that message was skewed and we now have a rather unhappy society caught up on their own petty desires, and forget anybody else. (Sorry this is a sore spot with me>) |

Wow..That was good and it really makes you think. I couldn't do that to my child if I had one. But I have a good question in reply. How can God condemn murder when He sent His Son to die for us?.........Rocketman |

No, Gandwere, this message is for you too. This letter is for Christians and non-Christians, because God's love is for Christians and non-Christians alike. It just gives us something to think about |

Rocketman: Remember, Jesus was NOT murdered. Yes, people killed Him, But he was a WILLING sacrifice! The Bible says that at any moment Jesus could have called down His angels to save Him and could have had all the evil people who were doing this to Him be killed. But Jesus allowed Himself to die because He loved ALL of us, even the very people who were killing Him. I hear you saying that it is hypocritical of God because He does not condone murder, but yet He had His own Son die on the cross. Jesus' mission on earth was for Him to come down and die for us. In the Old Testament, followers of God had to sacrifice clean unblemishhed animals for sin attonement. Jesus came to free us from this, offering Himself as the eternal sacrifice. Hope this makes you understand better. LOVE, |

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I believe Jesus was fully human. He was, I believe, a Bodhisatva, one who has undergone many incarnations & was enlightened & opened himself to receive the Holy Spirit as was Buddha (& as we all are). |

...that is... he was a perfected soul when he came to earth. He had attained a spiritual purity that would have allowed Him to merge with God, yet He chose to retain human form in order to teach a more enlightened doctrine than the Jews knew. I beleive, that unfortunately, many errors have been introduced (or truths edited, or omitted) that have clouded things & left us with less than a full understanding of the message & mission of Christ. |

To TC: I see how you feel, but for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Jesus was the Son of God sent down to us in human form. I do beleive he was perfect, But never perfectED because I beleive he was ALWAYS perfect. However, you are entitled to your beliefs. LOVE, |

Thank you for this wonderful story. It's hard to imagine having that kind of love for someone who doesn't deserve it or appreciate it. Even for someone who does appreciate it for that matter. I guess when we come to realize the GREAT love that God has for us and accept that love, that is when we truely are changed. People can change, no matter how great their sins are because of the GREAT price that was paid for us and the greatness and incomprehensable love of God. God Bless You! Keep on writing. Love, Pam |

This was a great analogy. I have posted a somewhat similiar story called " Mystery Flu ". You should check it out as it also portreys the great sacrifice in a picture that we can relate to. Thank you for my daily reminder of the love of the savior. St. Pete |

I agree with you about the emotions & passion of beliefs that you are entusiastic about. But I guess I was thinking more about the resentment and the "sickly" feelings I always got growing up, when the mission meetings I attended were "tested" and they'd sing these tear-jerker songs that tugged at your heartstrings, &/or made you feel fearful if you didn't stand up and "profess". |

I don't follow you? Like how would I feel if, say Budhists were telling me I was going to hell because I wasn't a Budhist? Do you mean something like that? Well, since I am strong enough in my beleif, it honestly wouldn't really bother me because I feel like I know the truth. Now, if I was without faith, I honestly do not know. I was raised in Chritianity. I have been a Christian for 21 years (all my life) so I really have never been without faith. So I have a hard time putting myself in the shoes of those types of people. Does this answer your question? I didn't really understand the question. If this is what you are asking, then this is what I feel. LOVE, |

No..I could not sacrifice any of my family or friends..I actually would not think it fair if I had to do so..I would sacrifice anything of myself including myself but I could not take something of some one elses away. I just could not..The fact God can shows how much he believes in us and how much we do not in him..Not a single one of us would sacrifice our own children or family..God's sacrifice also shows how much he loves us as well but most importently shows us that we do not have to sacrifice our family and that we do not have to be perfect. We are already "perfect" as we are. |
