oh, the time i have spent on usm . . . *sigh*

yes, i am guilty of 16 hour stunts even. :p

well, anyhow, in the past i have seen fake deaths, debates of favortism, debates of popularity, debates of 'fluff', accusations of pedophilia, a want for a pg-13 rating, accusations of trigger happy admins . . . so on and so forth . . .

and you know what, usm has survived it all. just like any injury, however, it DID get a bit weaker. just like any family, it DID get torn apart at times. just like any body, the wound always left a long lasting bruise.

well, this is usm's chance to take care of all it, as long as its done right.

why would anyone want a part of this responsibility?

because we love usm.

i was one that REFUSED to do certain posts . . . i always thought that looking for compassion over the computer was just either someone looking for attention, or someone that really needed to get out more. usm is different. in the past i have been guilty fo the following . . . an anniversary post, an "i'm leaving post", a "please don't leave post", a "lost a loved one post", and TONS OF POETRY.

why do i mention all of this . . . to show that i care about usm. and that is why i am willing to be selected. what makes me think i can do it? well, i do have leadership and management skills, if that's what you are asking! :p

NOW, what would i do?

first and for most, i believe we should monitor what the admins do. *ducks the bottles and vegetables being thrown* if, and only if, someone questions an admnin's judgement, that is when we should talk to all parties, get all sides, and come to a final conclusion that can be sent to george and ginger (there is no reason they should have their time wasted on such matters) to allow them to get the problem resolved.

i believe that we should be able to lend a hand in the complaints department.

i believe that we should have a section dedicated to usmer's talking to us, after all, we should merely be the voice of usm's general population. nothing more and nothing less.

i believe that we should also be able to look into accusations of other members. in paticular incidents such as the pedophilia, the fake deaths, so on and so forth . . . i have seen too much focus on usm with such things, and that is because it was left to the concern of usm to solve the problem. george and ginger are much too busy to have to do all of that themselves.

as far as what i believe usm should be . . . i believe that is should be a place for all to converse. sure, just like in families, there is the grown up table, and the children table, but, all families still mingle with each other after dinner. :p

i envision that the selected ones would be able to meet on a certain post, give their opinions for a day or two on a selected topic, allow a decision to be made, ask usm what it thinks, make a compromise, and give g/g the result.

i believe that *if* i am selected, i might be able to do a little plugs for the poets out there starving for replies. :p (which is the main reason i have kept coming here for the past year or so) :)

i believe that usm is a unique, tremendous place, and that the new group of leaders would be able to help drive usm back on tracks, and bring forth an outstanding voice for all of usm, not just those that seem to speak more often.

so, there. that is why i want to do it, and what i would 'bring to the table', so to speak.
