I find it mesmorizing because a small thing of beauty and changing colors can turn into huge ugly mass distruction....But really- for everyone still in school out there-- is fire a solid, a liquid, or a gas? :p |

I think it is the light in the darknes as with a campfire. The light of the fire to stave off the darkness and it's hidden terrors |

yes I have to agree with you about it being fascinating to watch until I saw the bush fires raging through the town where I live and watched houses burn down...then all the fascination went out of it...cheers Zema |

the movement.. the fact that it looks soo innocent but soo deadly at the same time that it was held away from you as a child.. that it can cause such distruction from a tiny flame.... that it causes chemical reactions... there are soo many things.. fire is power ever since basic cave man instincts... fire=power |

Ummm...I like playing with fire! And speaking of bonfires, nothing is more fun that setting the marshmallow on fire. Gooey marshmallows are good. In fact, I love 'em so much, I used to buy bags of marshmallows and heat 'em up over a burning candle. Probably a dangerous thing to do, but I always kept a glass of water handy in case things get out of hand. Playing with fire is fun. :) |

i belive fire is a plasma, or maybe it's energy, a plasma is like neon and all that stuff that glows i think the sun is plasma, but i can just sit there and watch a candle till my eyes hurt and STILL not be tired of it, and of course several of my guy friends like to play with fire *cough PYRO cougy* ~*moonstorm*~ |

Moonstorm, fire isn't plasma. It's a gas. The thing that never ceases to amaze me about fire is the amount of energy that it unleashes. It's hard to imagine that that piece of wood that you threw in the fire is capable of producing that much heat. |
