Klez worm virus sent to USM JUNKIES ADDRESS.......Check your PCs.......LSR   Author:  46527  Category:(USM Events) Created:(12/16/2002 5:43:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (412 times) Someone has in the last hour unwittingly sent the Klez worm virus to the USM Junkies e.mail address. Luckily my virus checker caught it and I quarantined it before it infected my PC, HOWEVER, it does mean that someone with the USM Junkies address in their address book has the virus on their PC. If you've never sent anything in but know people who have then mail them and let them know. You will not be aware that you have mailed this virus in as it does it automatically and without leaving a trace. The e.mail containing the virus can come in with one of over a hundred different titles and the numbers are growing every day. It can even come in masquerading as a warning AGAINST the Klez virus! EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT KNOWINGLY ADDED THE ADDRESS TO YOUR ADDRESS BOOK MANY E.MAIL PROGRAMS ADD EVERY ADDRESS TO WHICH YOU HAVE SENT A MAIL.....PLEASE SCAN ANYWAY. This worm is clever in that it often covers its tracks and it is impossible to tell whose e.mail addy it came from, I do of course have the IP address of the sender but let's face it, how many people who are not on a network actually KNOW their own IP? You can do an online scan at www.symantec.com. I urge you to do this if you have ever mailed anything in to the USM Junkies address as it might just be YOUR PC that is infected. The Klez worm can do a LOT of damage to your system, so please...be safe....scan now!
