When life is hard and you think you will die
And the days are so long you could almost cry
When trying drains your last reserve
Then you meet someone you would die to serve
Someone who urges you deep inside
And gives you cause to stay alive
Who becomes the reason for all you do
And they share your cause and they dream with you
Then you finally rise to achieve your scheme
But that someone no longer believes the dream
When that soul is gone and is lost to you
Is it fair to wonder if there is no WHO?

When you dream of a life and you live that dream
With another soul like a king and queen
And you plan together through years of pain
For you know in the end you will reap great gain
And you struggle and fight and pay great loss
To reach your goal at any cost
And you coax each other to endure and stand
For the goal you are seeking is so near at hand
And your hand reaches out to receive your prize
And you find that your dream was a pack of lies
For all you hold totals only naught
Can you help believing that there is no WHAT?

We said oh my how time does fly
When we built our castle in the sky
She said it would be a groovy place
With lots of rooms and closet space
I said see how the time has flown
There are no more games we are almost grown
We talked about how it would be
When time would finally set us free
And then the day was almost here
We felt we had no more to fear
Both she and time came to an end
But if time stops is there still a WHEN?

When you plan to meet at a certain place
And you clean up good and put on your face
For you hope for a kiss and a hug or two
When you once arrive at a place you knew
And you feel a thrill shooting through your soul
As your journey reaches its distant goal
You breath deep sighs to calm your heart
And you hope and pray you have done your part
You think how far you have finally come
On a long, long trip that is finally done
And you reach the end and see no one there
When you are left alone is there still a WHERE?


If all you do is caused by one
Who gave you dreams of what to become
Who inspired your soul to achieve a goal
And you lived each day just to gain her soul
If all you ever grew to be
Was because she held a sacred key
To unlock your soul to a destiny
That reached the stars and eternity
With her the cause of all you knew
The meaning of each thing you do
If that because becomes a lie
Can there ever really be a WHY?
