*ugh* ... i hate, HATE, HAAAATTTTEEE it when, as a retail worker, you ask someone how they are doing . . . and they either shout "JUST LOOKING" or flat out ignore you . . . |

I worked retail many moons agao, and I sympathize with you. And as far as cell phones go, people who are too busy blabbing on the phone should not attempt to be multi-tasked, for it's obvious they have a one track mind. |

lol, sexxxxy, i hate when they say 'i'd like a hamburger, with everything,' so you ring that up, then they say 'wait no i want it with this and that, but without those'. then with the icecream they want a cup, no then a cone, then this icecream, no that icecream. ...grrr!! fastfood is not my place! *blinkes eyes* |

I once worked at a C-Store that had gas pumps, and you will never guess how many people never took the time to read the number on the pump where the car was parked. So when I would ask them which number, they would usually respond "HUH"? I once spent 15 minutes with a customer trying to fugure out which car was at what pump. It was a friday night and things were busy. Needless to say, she complained to the corporate office, and needless to say, I did'nt care. |

It burns me up to see anyone talking on a phone in public for some reason. Do they think they're so important that they can't wait until they get home? Oh, Lord! I'd better have my phone with me. the Pope or the President or the United Nations might call me. |

i agree throwing out the trays is mean to the workers. but sometimes i do recieve important calls when i'm out in public. thats the whole idea behind the cell phone. if something crashs at work, they have to be able to reach me to bring me in to fix things. *dagon* |

I used to work with customers, and, oh, there are too many moments to recount...I worked in a pizza place for a while, and we had a lady change her baby's diaper right out in the open on top of one of the tables (where people eat, for God's sake!). I also had a surly fellow who didn't like the way I was counting out his change, "no! that's not how you do it!" he exclaimed, and grabbed the cash out of my hand. he then counted it out of the counter to demonstrate, and said, "see, that's how you do it. Now you try it." and tried to give the money back to me. I'm not fond of taking orders from people from people outside of my boss, so I just smiled, shook my head and said, "why sir, that's not necessary, since you've already done it yourself." He still tried to thrust the money back at me, I absolutely refused, he gave me a really annoyed look, said, "okay..." and left. |

I have worked 8 years in a convenience store and I have tons of stuff that bothers me, lol. The way people treat public bathrooms.."YUCK!" I would really love to see some of these people's bathrooms at home. When people come in and yell at me for the prices of either gas or something in the store. Like if I really had anything to do with the prices of things in this store that I'd be standing behind the counter at 10:30pm on a Saturday night...I doubt it. Ohhh and the best is the ESP thing. When people come in and just throw money on the counter without saying a word. Like all convenience store workers automatically have ESP and we should all know immediately what they are paying for, lol. Sometimes people are just really annoying. Great post. ~Gabrielle~ |

In retail.....I hate to see people always in a hurry and this time of year you can not be devoted to one single person when standing at a register ringing people out. I get individuals that openly and bluntly say/..."where is such in such in your ad" having no regard of the task at hand or the people who have waited a long time to be waited on......I resent SELF-IMPORTANT people! Because they are in a hurry, no one else counts......UGH! |

I worked at a pizza place while I was in college. I had one person come in and start screaming at me that he didn't get anchovies on his last combo pizza. He just kept up and up and up. When I made his pizza, after the sauce but before I put cheese on it, I covered the pizza with anchovies. Usually you just add a few because they have such a strong taste. I hope that he enjoyed his pizza. Another time I had a similar thing happen. The person came in and started screaming at me. The last pizza they got wasn't cut into small enough pieces. He was so rude. He yelled at me while I made his pizza. Then while it was cooking he went to the bathroom. The pizza was finished so I cut it into 1 inch wide strips, then cut perpendicular to those so basically I cut the pizza into 1 inch squares. I think that in both cases the customer got what they asked for, but perhaps not what they wanted. I learned that you should always be nice to people that are helping you... |
