Dear Diary: 1/27/2003 ¤Frankenstein¤

A couple of days ago, I decided that I needed a change of some sort but what could I do? I did the first thing that popped into my head and shaved my beard. Yes, I'm naked now but I won't be for long. I decided to grow it back the moment I saw what I'd uncovered. As a result of my thyroid not being regulated, I gained a lot of weight a couple of years ago. Then, I had surgery and lost all of that weight over a period of a few months. My body went back to looking just as it always had but my face remained fuller than it had ever been before. Take that into consideration and then add in the fact that I'm now forty and you can only imagine. I looked like Bela Lugosi did in Ghost of Frankenstein. That sounds like the name of a book that I might write someday. "How I Went From Tom Green To Bela Lugosi Overnight." Lord! I always laughed at poor Bela when he looked like that. Don't worry. I'll look like myself again, soon.

How closely do you look at the labels on products at the grocery store? I have a habit of reading them. I want to know the ingredients and the nutrition values. I have a question. What exactly are 'mechanically separated chicken parts' and why don't they sound very appetizing to me? Whatever it is, it can't be good. Pot pies are usually a bargain. Even if you aren't in the habit of reading the labels very closely, you can, at least, pay attention to what it says on the front of the box. Think twice if you ever seen the words, 'chicken PART pie'. I haven't see that yet but it's just a matter of time. They'll probably try to make the 'a' and the 'r' look like a fancy 'o'.

The 'author's copies' of my books came in the mail today. (I got two.) I must say, they look fantastic. It doesn't hurt a thing that they took my suggestion on the cover design. I can't describe how it feels to hold a book in your hands and read your own words inside. It's a thing of beauty and a feeling that everyone should be allowed to feel at least once. They're available online now but they'll be in the stores sometime next month. I checked at Barnes & Noble and I noticed that they list some of the people there who have bought it along with what else they ordered. One person ordered mine as well as one of Stephen King's. They say something like, "If you like this, you should read________." They actually compared me to Stephen King? Wow! This is such a rush!

Date: 1/27/2003 4:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    Oh Frankie. This post did make me smile. I cannot read the labels any longer as the eyes aren't seeing the fine print or maybe the fine print is even smaller. I better stay away from chicken pot pies, just in case. I'd love to order your book but don't know where to order it from. Do I type in Barnes & Noble and go from there or what?

Date: 1/27/2003 5:43:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47699    Helpful Bill, I would love to. It would save me a whole lot of trouble. I'm just not allowed to advertise here and that's what they call it. Please just email me at Frankensteinfms@aol.com and I can give you all of the details that way. I truly do appreciate your interest and I look forward to hearing from you. Be sure to let me know that it's from you in the subject line so I won't delete it without opening it. I'll be truthful with you. I won't be surprised if this post gets deleted just because I've said as much as I have. I don't see the harm. People have asked and I've done my best to answer although it has been in a roundabout way. I'm sorry for all of the trouble you've had to go through. I wish it could be easier for all of us.
