Ok, I'll put it to you like this. We are on this earth for just a short time. Reguardless of what we believe or dont beleive we ARE going to die. Our flesh will die. Now to those that dont believe in God, when death comes they really have nothing to look forward to because they dont beleive that there is anything after this life. Then you have those that believe yes, after this life, they are going to get another one. Then you have people that believe like I do, to die is to go on to be with the lord. OR as my God says, if one doesn't believe in the lord then heaven is not where one is going. The point of the whole matter is, we ARE going to die. Now rather my beliefs are right or other peoples are, the thing is having ones beliefs that make you feel comfortable with death. Sure we go along life here, making money, ,having comforts just to loose it all when we die, but one has to think of the big picture. We have children, they are our legacy, they live on, and the generations go on from there so a part of you will always be alive in your family. Plus if we didnt' do anything just sat around saying, HECK whats the use?? Were just going to die anyway, so why bother??? THINK of what a boring life we would have, the adventures we would miss out on, the fun, the sorrow, the tears, the joy? Why waste ones time on earth thinking whats the use? Enjoy what we have for as long as we have it. |

Because if you don't struggle to get ahead, then you get nothing. Who cares if death will someday knock at your door, taking away all your fortunes, at least you've enjoyed them while you were among them. Right? -Evil King Stan- |

I, for one, never do I sit around and say whats-the-use. Life is what you make it. It can be rich and fulfilling, or bleak and empty. It is a CHOICE. If one is not taking care of today, and only thinking about, worrying about or wishing for the next life and a "heaven", what an awful existence HERE will be. Some of the most unhappy and miserable people are always complaining about the world today, and pining there hearts out for their "reward" in "heaven", yet at the same time, they are scared of death. I'm not afraid of death; I don't fear it; and I do not think or dwell upon death or any "afterlife". I'm only interested in making THIS LIFE the best it can be; and when I am gone I want those who knew me and or loved me, to feel and say that they feel THEIR life was better for having known me; and that I really helped them in some way. I would like for them to say she will live on in my heart and mind forever. All would be worth it. I choose LIFE.....HERE, and NOW.....TODAY, to LIVE, and not just exist or pine away for the next life. NO one really knows if there is anything beyond the grave. And, until someone comes back and tells me; I ain't gonna worry 'bout it. :) |

you don't have to go to church on sundays, have a strong belief in a higher power, or live your life according to religious beliefs. We aren't here for very long. when you think of how big this world is and how long this earth has been around, the human life span is a very short amount of time to be living on it. to me, the basic meaning of life is just to survive it. everybody dies, but not everybody lives. you get what i'm saying?..if you can spend your time on this earth having fun, loving & being loved, working your hardest, and just being happy, they you've succeeded. Yes, death will always come to get you, but you can't let that bring you down. Instead of worrying about when you're gonna die, worry about living, right now. everyone's time will come eventually, its not a chance thing, its going to happen, and its just something you hafta accept, and thats really the only way to deal with it. |

I have no specific religion, my goal is just to live my life to the fullest, we're only here for a short amount of time, why waste a moment of it? |

And, I would just like to say, I know quite a few Christians whose goals are more than to just live by their beliefs, so then wouldn't your question apply to them to? |

Why should someone who lived a good life, go to hell just because they don't go to church or believe in God? That's what I don't understand. Even those with no religious beliefs can have goals to live a good life, and to help their fellow man. Religion, God and Church really should have anything to do with whether we go to heaven or hell (if either place truly exist), if we have been a good person. |
