I'm going to be a singer too. I recently made a demo. Me and my mom are looking into agents. We've already contacted several record companies for lists of esteemed agents in the NY area. Make sure you have a respected agent or else record companies will ignore you! I wish you the best of luck! AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!  |

Rika is so right. But actually okay first do this: make your demo CD and take pro pictures (looks are everything). Then go look for an entertainment lawyer (they can be agents also) make sure you read everything before you sign! Anyways an entertainment lawyer shouldnt cost anything (they make a certain percentage off your earnings) and then they will help you do 1, 2, 3, and 4! You can NOT do 1,3, and 4 (proffsionally anyways) without an agent or entertainment lawyer. Record labels wont hear you if you arent represented for legal reasons. Check out a site I have for singers: http://usnb.conforums.com also as a word to the wise I dont know where you live, but this may make it easier or hard. Rika is blessed to live in NY or be around it. I am unfortanitly not. I live in Iowa! But yet I did find myself a good entertainment lawyer and a nice underground music scene on the other side of the state. Also word to the wise: get vocal lessons and learn an instrument if you already havent. Writing your own songs gives you a better chance. Take dance classes if possible. I dont know what you look like but that may effect it too sorry to say...(hey I weigh 185lbs and I'm 5'4 so I can sympathize with the weight challeneged (not saying you are Im just saying :p.).) Anyways if you need to get in shape exercise then! Oh and dont be offended about the vocal teacher, every singer needs one no matter what!  |
