Hi Guys. This is my first posting, so smile and enjoy. This is one of the more plesant spirit stories. Very true though.
My dad used to be a regional manager for U-haul, so he traveled a lot. Usually overnight. My mom and I had finished watching a movie by ourselves-dad being on the road again-and sat on my bed talking like we usually did. "When is dad going to be home?" She told me he wouldn't be back till "tomorrow night" and not to worry, that he'd be okay.
I must have been asleep for about four hours when my bedroom got teeth chattering cold. That, of course, woke me up. I rubbed my eyes, swung my legs over the edge of the bed and was about to call mom to check the furnace when I caught sight of something I'll remember for the rest of my life.
Standing in my doorway, leaning against the door frame, was a man. At first, I thought dad had come in early. Then my next thought was,"Dad isn't that tall. And he doesn't have black hair either." He didn't make any threatning moves or scream or throw anything, he was just standing there.
I called for mom then, and when she started through the door, she looked like she had just walked though snow barefooted. She shivered, goose bumps rose on her arms, and she pulled her robe tighter around her. I asked her if dad had come in earlier, and when she told me that he hadn't made it in yet, I told her about the man in the doorway. She, of course, promptly told me I was dreaming and to go back to sleep. "I'll stay here till you drift off again, so you won't have any more bad dreams." I replied, "Mom, I'm not dreaming because he's standing right there." Ya know, she couldn't see him, which I thought was fairly strange. It never even occured to me to be afraid.
Now, my mom has always been one to keep the peace, so she didn't tell dad what I had "dreamed" thinking dad might think someone had broke into the house. That, naturally would have sent dad into fits.
About a month later, my dad sees him. He was standing beside the bed, just watching dad sleep. Dad WAS afraid. He was so afraid, in fact, he froze. He couldn't even wake mom up to witness what he was seeing. It never even occured to him. He almost lost his mind when our "friend" started backing through the wall.
He told mom the next morning what had happened, even including a discription of the guy. Me and dad had both discribed: "A tall man with black hair, wearing a pair of slacks, a dress shirt, dress shoes. He was very neat in appearance and had a kind look about him."
This was no orb, or streak of light or vapor, or insubstancial see-through ghost. This was very much like a physical body. But physical bodys do NOT vanish through a wall made of cinder block. Mom never has seen him, but he has saved her life more than once. (I'll post those later). Even now, I love to go back to where I spent my childhood and see "George" out of the corner of my eye as he walks back and forth in the hallway.
Love to all... How it changed my life:"George" was my best friend. He took care of all of us. We still don't know how he came to be there, but, one day I'll find out. I truly miss him.
