"longing"...kronk

"When are you gonna come down?..When are you going to learn?....I should have stayed back on the farm....Should've listened to my old man..You know you can't hold me forever...I didn't sign up to you..I'm not a present for your friends to open..This boy's too young to be singing...the blues."... (Goodbye Yellow-brick Road,) by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Old stone wall and painted doorway-

Weathered wood that once was forest green-

Crumbling flower pot...A new crop of daisies-

Last summer's milk cartons..The doggie's bowl-

Green mould on the ancient step-

Tinkling wind chimes..like the soft laughter of children.

Where are you, my beloved?

These things were set-out from within-

Darkened windows...Dusty silk ..Old spider-webs-

Only memories abide those empty rooms.

I'll spend my night in the rubbish

and when my bottle goes empty,

I'll fade and sleep

and dream...of you.

Pale moon and summer rain-

Scented soaps and a woman's song-

Rain water makes your dark hair glisten.

Ethereal...Oh, my beloved.

A while back, one of my dearest friends
said something in a message that I can't
seem to forget. She mentioned that it was
raining out and that she was thinking about
standing in the rain and washing her hair.
That vision seems beautiful to me. Thanks
for that vision, Jezebel :)

Date: 2/14/2003 11:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    Kronk, I'm really feeling sorry for the guy you've wrote about in this poem. All he has are memories that the bottle helps him to remember, poor old soul. This makes me remember the old gents I knew that would talk of their passed over loves and their longings for the days long gone except in memory. I'll say a prayer for them tonight.

Date: 2/15/2003 11:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 4548    to take a fragment, a single moment that haunts you, and find inspiration in it is truly magic. what i wouldn't give to dance in the rain just now. how i wish summertime would come! "Oh I've finally decided my future lies,
Beyond the yellow brick road"
