As I sit listening to the local is station; The DJ was reporting on how every hardware store in town was out of Duck tape and Plastic. Then, there is the News of the impending war with Iraq. Yes… Truly these are perilous times we live in. But you know? It really does not surprise me. I have read and studied about the coming years which face us. I can tell you now, “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”
I have been a Survivalist for 25 years. I do not trust the Safety of my family to anyone. Not even the Government. Here in North Carolina, we are now making preparations for the second major ice storm this year. In December we were without power for 16 days. I was able to provide heat, light and food and water, for my children. What kind of father would I be, had I allowed them to freeze or go hungry?
A Parent who makes a decision to depend on someone else for the safety and well being of their family is not doing their job! A decision NOT to store food, water, and heat and light sources makes a decision For disaster. We here in North Carolina have learned the hard way with a dozen life threatening storms over the past few years.
Duck Tape and Plastic came in real handy when an oak tree fell on our house a few years ago during a storm. Everyone should be able to provide for their families basic needs for at least two weeks. It is not hard nor is it expensive.
