Getting Paid To Live in ALASKA?

We did our taxes in co-op class last week. And i was suprised to find out people get a tax break (get back more money) if they live in Alaska. I guess Alaska isn't a popular place to live, so they have to pay people to live there. i can see why though. I don't think you could pay me to live there. Because I hate cold weather...and it is dark most of the time. My friend went there for Christmas because her grandmother lives there, and she said it's freaky because it's like twilight all the time. Never any sun. What do yall think about this?

Date: 2/15/2003 12:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 36766    I could live there, I looooooove the cold and I'd rather be in the dark than in the sunlight (no I am not a vampire lol I just like the dark)...my mom and dad went there back in May and they said it was beautiful and I seen the pictures and it really is nice looking...pay me to live there? where do I sign up lol I'd do it in a heartbeat
Date: 2/15/2003 12:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 49150    I would not want to go there, but I hear there are 9 men to every one woman.

Date: 2/15/2003 2:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 17014    No way...i could never have a garden or grow my veggies up there. The soil is too cold all the time and it's not of the best for growing. :)

Date: 2/15/2003 4:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 58022    I have a friend who used to live in Alaska. She said it was very nice-never too hot. Average temperature in Summer was 70 degrees (though that's too cold for me). She said you have to live there a certain amount of time before getting money though.

Date: 2/15/2003 4:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    alaska has a midnight sun and days with no sun(the winter) there are less people in alaska it means less roads less taxes less citys less many things what higher taxes pay for.. and they probally do get breaks for living up there
Date: 2/15/2003 5:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    LOL I don't think I would want to live up there even if they paid me.
