It has been mentioned..This is what I read..If you put 10 people in a 10x12 bedroom and seal up the windows, doors, and vents and you shut down the ventilation systems, you will live about one hour. That's why I thought it is so ridiculous for people to run out and waste their money on all that tape and plastic sheets. All they would be doing is making a makeshift tomb for themselves. Common sense should tell people that they should be investing in chemical suits and gas mask if anything. As for me and my family we are doing nothing..But if we see it necessary, there are at least two options..If something was to happen in our state, which I seriously doubt that it will, I have a vehicle full off gasoline..My family and I would drive into Canada or we would hit the hills and caves of WV, depending on what happens..There's also the option of hopping on the next jet out of the country. Regardless..Common sense tells me that NO ONE is so stupid to attempt to poison the air in the entire US..Air flow does not stop..To contaminate only the US would be impossible. I can see that random cities could get hit with radioactive material over a wide area or chemical or poison weapons but not the entire US..People who runs out to purchase all those items are the very people who needs to be taught survival techniques. But above all they need to acquire a little common sense and learn to think before they leap. |

Well all I can say is that if I cannot live and live with a quality to my life, I would just as soon die. Plastic and duct tape works like radiation, it only will prolong your life, but for what? If our air is full of chemicals, it won't just float away. I say get right with God and put your fears in his hands and live each moment as it was your last, BEE happy!!! |

I think we're forgetting something else....no matter how much plastic and duct tape *falls over laughing at the thought* you put in your house...if they are going to kill you with biological warefare...a little bit of plastic wrap and duct tape (contrary to popular belief) will NOT save you.....whoever thought of this? Some homeless drunk that used it as a raincover. |

Someone here on USM mentioned that, also you have to shut off your stove because of carbon monoxide. |

...hmmm...ya know something, and this is probably not a good thing to say...but my suspicious mind has another possibility here - granted it might not relaistic, but anyway... See, during the Cold War and the increased threat of possible Atomic/Nuclear attack, one piece of advice given out in order to survive was: "Dig a hole, approx 3 feet in depth, long enough to lay flat down in...the blast-wave from the bomb will go right over the top of you." As an added benefit, in case you haven't realised it already, you would be laying down in what is essentially a shallow grave...so the disposal of your body is much easier and reduces the chances of infections/deseases etc spreading via exposed corpses. Peace, |

Agent..I thought of that also. It's as if the government is saying that most would likely die anyway and since there would be numerous deaths, this brings about infections and diseases. What better way to protect those who make it than to have makeshift tombs? |
