Neither of them believed in the paranormal but the events to follow were to change their minds forever. Kathy was pregnant with their first child and they had two other children to John's previous marriage. It was the youngest daughter that would have the first encounter. She began to have a fear to the walk in pantry and would be eating dinner and suddenly point to it and say "bad" in her 3 year old voice. She never had a fear like this before and refused to walk in it or go near it. They passed it off as imagination at first..until the nights followed. Everything was okay until the following May when the baby was born. A little boy and beautiful he was. But he never slept. Only when he was about 2 and a half did he sleep completely through the night. He would wake up screaming, hysterical and he would not even recognise his parents when they came in. They knew something wasnt right. A month or so later the mysterious happenings began. One night at dinner, the dining table started to glow blue! They all sat back, stunned, not knowing what on earth it was. That night the youngest was watching tv and heard footsteps in the kitchen, she saw shadows as though kids were playing. When she went upstairs to her room, she could have swarn she saw a child sleeping in her bed. Another night she woke up to a pillow being ripped from under her head and again, she saw a child, standing over her bed. Kathy (the mother) then got a lot of the hauntings. The childs toys would be thrown at her when she left the rooms by invisible children, door knobs turned by unseen hands, curtains would move when no one was near them, keys would turn in locks that no one was near and the children complained about being picked on as they went to bed at nights. When the next baby was born he began moaning one night. Kathy raced over to see a dark figure leaning over him, arms out like it was ready to pick him up. Kathy panicked and grabbed her baby. Kathy ran out of the room and found mher husband asleep on the couch. She was crying and frightened. "Someone was over the baby - doing something to him!" He thought she was mad as there was a ghost show playing on the tv that night. Unseen people would then call their names when she was home alone. The kids would hear it too and think it was daddy, but no one would be there. The father began to believe one night when Kathy was out late. He was watching tv and heard the key turn in the lock. He decided to have some fun and scare her so he turned off the lights and hid in the corner. But he sat there for ages... no one came in, when he checked the door it was indeed unlocked, but no one was there. He only suceeded in scaring himself. Another night they came home from shopping with a funny smell in the house. So from room to room they went, opening all the windows. It was a warm day but the kids bedroom was ICE cold. Like nothing they ever felt. It was frightening. They all would get 'chills' when entering some rooms and the whispers to the children increased even around John (the father) That was the end of it. They got a healer who said the place was bad and then their last nights in there, although they were peaceful, they moved anyway. It is a story they tell others and like they once were, the others dont always believe them.
