I walk along a windswept beach and
watch the sea's quiet, gentle ripples
as they lap the shore.
The stars stretch forever
until they meet the sea,
and as I slowly turn,
for but a moment, brief in time,
I see you...standing there,
and I am swept away like the tide
with memories of you.
I reach out my hand to you and
as suddenly as you appeared,
you slip back into my heart
elusive as the ocean's mist.
I continue on my lonely path
warm wind caressing me
carrying me, holding me
they way you did not so long ago.
For in all the world
never was there found
a love so tender so pure...
now sits lost eternally
among the endless stars.
