I Have A Question ¤Frankenstein¤

My question is a very simple one, I think. My web site is done through AOL so why isn't it listed in their search engine? What do I have do to get more traffic? I can do a search on something completely obscure like 'George Washington's socks' and get literally thousands of sites. What do I have to do?

Anyway, there is a special line(s) of code that you will need to enter in the scripting of your website to make it available to search engines. I'd have to hunt them done. Search on google.com for "HTML Meta Tags". Meta tags go in the "head" part of your scripting and will tell search engines what to look for. -

Date: 3/6/2003 7:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    I will remember to not say, "What would you do if.." I like your comments and I would be heartbroken if you never replied to me again... sniff, sniff...
Date: 3/6/2003 7:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 28899    To answer your question, it takes a few months for search-bots to pick up a site, and, after writing my entire site from scratch, I doubt the validity of meta-tags. There's no reason to pay for engine submission, though. All the common ones will pick up every site.. Eventually.
Date: 3/6/2003 7:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    What is the subject of your site? We could try and get you.
