My husband used to work at a small business that made beef jerky in there garage. He told me that we could make it here at home, but it would be a lot of trouble. I need to get a dehydrator, because I love beef jerky. Thank you for sharing this tip! |

We dehydrate for alot of things, especially fruits and beef jerky. It's very ecomomical. |

Hey its not too hard to make. We carry some with us when we go hunting or to work out in the garden at times for snacks. The Indians were the first ones to introduce us to jerky. Braves would carry this dehydrated meat product out with them and use it for nourishment until they killed an animal or they were out on a long scout party. Something I read on a bag of jerky or a website dealing with it one time or another. |

You can dehydrate lots of stuff using a oven. once you get the hang of it, you will throw away your plastic dehydrators, I have done apples, plums, pears, peaches. |

~thanks for sharing this~ I love beef jerky and deer jerky too! What kinds of cuts are best for making the most satisfying jerky? I like one bite to last forever, like an ol' cowhand on the trail...gotta make it last! I want to know what that cut would be. |
