Well, I listened to both of them. I can tell you that I am not familar with either song. So, I'm not sure if you are where you need to be on either of them. Another thing is, you were really close to the mike and I heard a lot of static on it. As for your singing abilities, I have heard worse and I have heard better. I think you are right there in between the two. With work and dedication you can improve your ability. You voice is also going to change as you get older. When I was your age I thought I could really sing, some told me I was great and others were just plain rude about it. I worked on it and got better and where I needed to be. Then, I started smoking and got older, and now, I think I sound awful! One tip, never smoke! I wish you the best, and I hope the dreams that you are thriving for do come true. |

You do have a nice voice. Very solid. Solid meaning you don't go up and down like Mariah. Sounds a bit babyish though. Well you are young so I don't expect you to have a tremendous voice. It was pretty good, I can give you that. Keep practicing, I know you'll get better.. =) |

I didn't Think they were all that good. You were too close to the mic and you are breathing from the wrong place and you can tell by the way you let the notes out with your breath and it sounds bad. It also sounds like you are singing in your head voice when you shouldn't be. It sounds unsupported. Sing from your diaphram. Do you have a vocal coach and a vocal teacher. You need them. If you already have them you need better ones.-Jennifer Anna |

It also seems like the type of music you are trying to sing does not fit your singing voice. Try singing other types of music.-Jennifer anna |

I also don't know the songs, but I do think you should support your voice more; use your diaphragm. Best wishes!!! |

i must agree with alot of people you are breathing on the mic alot and i'm almost sure i heard you swallow(that isn't a good thing!!) i don't want this to sound harsh... but i think your voice is average.. your still quite young it will mature... to give you an idea... if i was an american idol judge and you sung one of those... i would say thanks for trying but you won't be moving on... but do keep working at it |

thanks everyone. Jennifer Anna I DID have a vocal coach from June 2002 to the end of Janurary 2003. I did many recordings and asked how they sounded and you know what I was told? GET A VOCAL COACH! I decided this lady was doing me no good because I've been religiously practicing and what not... To the breathy comments lol yes I know they were there...I got me a new mic and Im not used to usuing it so sorry bout that! I gotta use my diaprhgam more actually midnightly taught me how :D but its hard to do because I think im doing it but apparently Im not... I relistened to the clip just as I was typing this and I decided i could have done better, In fact I did do better lol but if u go to page u will see some very nasty (i.e. they arent helpful they just call me names that arent USM approrpriate forgive the spelling lol!) and so Im not to anxious to add another vocal clip....I guess I'll just keep working on it. One question for anyone who knows... when does your voice kinda stop maturing? I mean is there like an average age? I'm almost 16 so this makes me wonder...midnightly lol are u sure simon wouldnt have said a bit more to that comment :p? Just teasin...thanks everyone. |

It finishing maturing somewhere in your 20s but it varies from person to person. I don't think you should be singing "Just like the artist" because you sound nothing like the artist the style types in your voices are different and you're not as good as they are or as expierenced as them. Sing something thats truly yours. Look through songbook after song book and don't sing a song until after you play it through and it feels right. You'll know when it feels right cause its a really strong good feeling. Don't get frustrated and give up and say I feel good about this song This is the one don't stop till you get the song and don't just jump right in and start signing go through and get flamiliar with your beats and your rests and your counts, etc. then work towards it. It will take time but it will get better. It also depends a lot on whether you use sheet music or not. Do you?-Jennifer Anna |
