My husband had a heart attack!!!

On March 1st, my husband who will be 50 on March 20th had a heart attack from a blood clot. Thank God they gave him a shot to dissolve the clot. Further tests proved he had minimal damage and no blockages. His doctor said he really had the perfect heart attack! The doctor said that nicotine causes clots and he should quit smoking, he has done that. We were so scared. It was the worst feeling that I would love this person that I have spent 27 years with! I prayed to God to let him stay with us and he answered my prayers. I really don't know how I could go on without him. I will encourage all of you out there that smoke to quit now. When I saw the contents in a cigarette, I about died. I could not believe that anyone would smoke if they knew what was in them. I am so proud of my husband for quitting. Life is worth more than a cigarette. I just wanted all my friends to know what has been going on with me. My husband is doing great. We have changed our family diet completely and are exercising, something we had gotten real slack about. Take care of yourselves, if not for you, for those who love you!!

Date: 3/8/2003 6:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 39887    What the doctor meant was that he got immediate attention, got the clot buster shot, that worked!!He has no clogged arteries, no blockages, no side affects from the shot. He has great blood pressure through it all, no bad cholestrol. Our doctor was out here on his farm about two miles away and came immediately when I called him. The only pain my husband had was in his jaws. What alarmed me was his color change and he referred to his feeling as that of impending doom! Our doctor is also a friend and the perfect heart attack was the wake-up call GOD gave him. We know there was a guardian angel showing us that GOD still exists. We have set our priorties in the right order.

It did get your husband to quit smoking and all of you to eat better and exercise. Maybe it was the "perfect heart attack" like the doctor said. Good luck, I hope everything continues to go well for you and your husband.

Date: 3/8/2003 6:33:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 39887    I forgot to add this, there are more than 4000 ingredients in a cigarette other than tobacco. Common additives include yeast, wine, caffeine, beeswax and chocolate.Nicotine is absorbed by tissue lining the lungs and enters the blood stream. It passes through the heart and returns to the lungs then starts circulating in arteries. It spreads to every part of the body. Several studies suggest that smoking increases levels of beta endorphins, naturally occuring chemicals with morphine-like effects.

I don't like the world the way it is now so I won't be sad if something takes me out of it. I don't know what but something's going to take me out of this life and this world. It might as well be cigarettes. Don't get me wrong. I know that I need for quit.
