I can always tell. Sometimes it does take some time, others may be more obvious. But seldom does personality remain hidden, nor what and who they are. |

most of the time I can see through the fakes....haven't found too many yet though. |

Like the old saying goes: you can't please everybody.. So, if you look at people in terms of how 'pleasing' they are, of course you won't get a clear picture. Rather than trying to determine if someone is genuinely kind or not, I find it easier to pay attention to how they do or say things. That way, nice and not-so-nice are obvious, and it usually doesn't matter what they say or how genuine they are. |

And, like Demonic Angel said, everyone has their days :) |

I know a lot of fakes. You watch and learn. Two faced people are all over this world, its a shame really. |

maybe the 'fakes' play their part so well that it becomes themselves, and thats who they really are. once you play a part for so long, you can only look back and see what you have been for all of that time. and that is then who you are in some peoples theories... i dunno... there are both i think |

Here's an interested way I've often looked at it. I think everyone's fake to some degree. Most people are fake because they are polite and considerate of others, the bad ones use fakeness for power, control, and personal gain such as business men or political figures. If we could hear everyone's thoughts we'd find that everyone was judgemental, cynical and critical of others. |

I think we all have a side we show to the general public, we will show a bit more to our best friends. and something more to our spouses. Something different to our parents and children too. Then there is the real us, that no one really knows but our own self. I think fake people are fake, because they are afraid of what people would think, if they new the REAL them. We all have our dark sides, the difference is some act upon them and others don't. The reasons for these differences range from mental, physical and how you are raised. |

Mike i agree with you on the fakeness and being nice..there are plenty of times i will be 'fake'..not say what i really feel or act how i normally would to be nice and not hurt anyones feelings.. maybe its hurting them worse in the long run, i don't know |

strange that i should just see this tonight. My mother and I were just discussing how 'my family' in minnesota is so fake and how i really never want to be there in mn with them again (except for my son) perhaps i am just mad now, but i have always been genuine. Never kissed butt. You know...and my grandma just died and ya know? when things like that happen, you sure do see the real people showing through. the real FAKE people that is. My father always warned us of 'them' and I warned my sister and brother and mother of them....looks like my father and I were right. anyway, thank you for letting me blow off steam. (oh by the way, i am still looking for your 'dream' it didnt come up when i typed the addy in) hugs, |
