Within the shadows there's a secret place no one is quite sure of. A place where evil is held and kept. Some believe it comes out sometimes. While others feel it is nothing but a lie.
Well, one day two teens decided to test this story. Names shall never be spoking, just him and her. They challanged the darkness on a cool spring night. They figured nothing would come from it, they thought of it only as a game.
They sat outside and spoke to one another. Whispering about the darkness around them was heard in the wind. Everyone always thought it was the wind speaking, it wasn;t though it was spirts in the mist. The boy whispered, I doubt anything will happen but let's try anyway.
He looke dout into the darkness of the lake. "Darkness tonight we challange you is your place of secret or is your place of known," he asked.
The wind blew over the lake and they felt the breeze upon them. The wind began to scream, "Secret, secret."
The boy and girl looked at each other in sudden fear. "We are just hearing things," she said to him, "There is nothing out there. If there was something would show itself."
They laughed to themselves. There couldn't be anything out there. The worldest between dark and light were nothing. It was just a matter of life.
After 15 minutes they stood up and headed inside. That's when the unexpected occured. In the water a figure stood. Clearly enough it was a man. It spoke as they froze in their spots, looking into the darkness.
"Do not question thee. Do not look to thee for answers. Nothing that you could ever ask will ever help you to understand," the voice was dark and loud.
As it spoke more appeared around him. They spoke all at once, "Within the darkness we lay. Within the darkness we stay. Forever to stay hidden from human eye. And now that you seen us you must die."
The boy and girl looked at each other and screamed in terror. Inside a light turned on and the figures disappeared. A young woman walked out and looked at them, "What is this screaming all about?"
They looked at her and shock their heads walking inside. They were safe finally.
That night within their sleep the darkness took them in. It was said they died of the cold nights air. Which no one understood, but truthfully it was the darkness. The darkness they challanged which took them in that night. Took them to a place where they could never speak of what they saw or heard ever agian.
