my mom has panic attacks. she has social anxiety disorder. if she had to go out in public or speak to a group, she would get all shaky and sweaty. she is on paxil now. it really seems to be helping her. sorry i can't help ya too much. but that's about all i know (hugz)  |

I suffer from severe panic attacks. I don't have them as often I use to tho. My doctor put me on buspar, and it helped me alot. I hope things get better for him.  |

As The Muffin Man said keep his self esteem up, compliment you can about whatever too him. Sorry sis! I'm not sure what advice to give you, I hope your friend will be alright though! He's in my thoughts. *HUGS* |

I think your friend needs professional help. I don't mean that lightly; your friend can be helped with the right medication and therapy. No one should have to suffer as he apparently is. I wish you well.  |

Hey Carissa, I think your friend should be put on medication to help his panic attacks if he can't fight them off. I have panic attacks myself and I am not on any meds..I always manage to get through them..what happens to me is either my heart races or I can't feel it beating at all..the same goes for my breathing..it feels like your dying..your insides feel all jittery and it's a scary feeling..I try talking myself down and focus on my breathing. Everyone's panic attacks are different..so if your friend is shaking and what not I'd have him put on meds to see if they help him.  |

I dont have any info on panic attacks. But as far as it comes to lending strength... this i do know. Just make sure they know you are always there for them. (smile) Help when you can. It will take time.. but in the end all will be well.  |
