i REALLY enjoyed reading this book. i haven't read any books of sarah's before, but i think i'll have to go and check them out too. i read this book for an english assignment (due tomorrow..lol) that had to be about romance. at first, i thought it would be a dud, but i enjoyed sarah's plot and her colorful characters.
in a nut shell, "this lullaby" is about an 18 year old girl, remy, who is very outgoing and doesn't take stuff from anybody. she believes guys are here for sex only. well, she runs into a guy named dexter who is everything she hates (he's a musician!) but she eventually falls for him. he said that he knew they were to be since he first laid eyes on her, and he was right! well the musician part, her father was a musician and made a song "this lullaby" for her. he was a one-hit-wonder and died when remy was 2 years old. he mom is on marriage 5 and you'll have to find out what happens with that.
i think my favorite part of the book was the very end. it tied all the loose ends up as things died down.
"This lullaby is only a few words A simple run of chords Quiet here in this spare room But you can hear it, hear it Wherever you may go I will let you down But this lullaby plays on." (the song remy's dad made)
so, if you have read this book or any other sarah dessen books, i'd like to hear what you have to say, or if you haven't read one, i think you should pick up "this lullaby" and try it on - you may never know, it may blow you away :)
