*cough* Urban legend. Probably a relative to the one about the spider laying eggs in a girls ear, or the one where a squid lays babies in a woman's shoulder. |

This is very unlikely to be true. Widow Spiders(or any spider for that fact) would not lay eggs in the hair. Widow Spiders are very secluded spiders, they prefer not to be in a site of any other creature, especally one the size of a human. If you would find a Widow in a house, likely in the Basement or Attic, or a room that is not entered as much. A Female Black Widow, would not lay eggs on any creature, but a web. Plus, only a full grown Female Widow, has fangs that can penetrate the skin. |

Black Widows are very Hesitate to bite. (Like many other kinds of spiders, a Black Widow will only bite you, if somehow the Spider gets into your clothes and you put that article of clothing on, or you get into the web, those are the only two ways that you will get biten by a spider.) Infact I have actually pick up Black Widows myself, just keep still and no rapid movements the spider will crawl on you and treat you like you are a plant. |
