Hi how are you today? Here is what you do if you get coke that has gone bad, just email the company and explain to them the situation. They should send you coupons for free coke at least that is what they did for us. Chelelea |

I remember in high school, they had bad soda. It was all the Orange flavored soda. I remember buying that flavor and it tasted awful! I looked at the expiration date and it was a couple months old. Me and other students complained about it and got a free soda. |

Not sure it can be called the "real thing" anymore. They changed the taste of coke in the late 80's or early 90's. Not to good at remembering dates but they made it taste more like pepsi. I was real disappointed cause I hate pepsi. As other replier said, make a complaint and get coupons or some kinda recompense. Most big companies r good at this, in fact I watched a show here where some people made a killing from complaining, getting lots of replacement products on a regular basis, LOL. |

I agree Sagi. Can you remember the little bottles of Coca-cola? They have never tasted as good as they did in that size bottle. |

Yea the small glass bottles were nice, lacking those I like it in a can, the plastic bottles make it taste different again. |

I have had bad tasting Coke before. It is not a pleasant experience. You should definitely let the company know. I am a master at writing to companies when I am unhappy with them. So far, it has paid off. They usually send coupons for free items. Good luck! |

I got a Doctor Pepper once at a gas station and twisted the cap off and it didn't fizz. It had no carbonation at all. I freaked out (this was right around the time of the anthrax scare here in DC) and I told the manager who got me another one. |

I don't remember ever having a bad Coke. I guess the taste of almost anything can change if it gets old, though. |

I was picking my younger brother up from his drum lessons and bought a pepsi out of the machine. Well, turns out it was from 1998 and it was 2002. I didn't realize this until after I drank it and realized it tasted funky. I got really sick off of it that night. I was puking off of it. At least the drum instructor apologized. I don't know how it gets bad; I suppose it just rots like everything else. Another time, I drank hot chocolate and I put it in one of those coffee thermos things. Well, I left it on my dresser and forgot about it for a while until I smelled something really raunchy. I swear, rotten hot chocolate smells so bad, it's not funny! LOL! There was some rotting orange juice in a cup in my brother's room, too. That's pretty rank. But when soda's old, it just tastes bad...like poison. |

I'll tell ya one thing for sure. NOTHING is worse than BAD CHOCOLATE MILK!!. When I was pregnant w/ my little girl, I use to stop every morning and get one at the STop N' Go. Well, one morning, I stopped and eagerly opened the carton and started drinking, only to find out it was SOUR. And we're not talking expired by 3-4 days, we are talking TWO MONTHS. To this day, when I even remember that, I want to vomit. In fact, I haven't drank chocolate milk since, and that was 7 years ago! |

Hmmmm I do not know the answer or a clue as to why that happens. I do not think I have ever gotten a bad soda though, maybe from the fountain at fast food restaurants. Good Post Stacie. |

Coke goes "bad" when it is stored at the wrong temperature for too long. There are also some other factors I believe. I had this happen to me so I rang up coke and got 2 free bottles :) Ghost-Chick |
