It's Official- One Hour 'Till War

Whoopy, we go to war in an hour. Aren't you excited? Boy shucks howdy, I sure am. Yup... going to send hundreds of innocent people, on both sides, to meet the ole' Maker just to get at one guy whose shown time and again that he's like a cockroach- he's not going to die.

I'm especially enthused- I just signed up for selective service last night. Yup, good ole' Clucky-boy is elligeable for the draft. Not a problem now, not with quite a large volunteer army; but, boy howdy, Chester, just you wait 'till Saddam pops off a 20 megaton bomb full of nerve gas in their faces. Then it's all men 18-25 to the front for the ever-important Operation: Human Shield. Don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm looking forward to a nice helping of hot lead in the kisser.

Obviously, I'm not a fan of the impending destruction, and the fact that nearly the entire U.N. thinks Bush is one grade A prime Jackass, doesn't help matters much. All I've got to say is "Where's the logic in attacking a country we claim has weapons of Mass destruction? Are they not more likely to use said weapons during peacetime, when we are one of their number one oil buying countries, or during/in retaliation to an attack?

'Course, I'm set for when they blast the U.S. with small pox or aerial Anthrax, got my Israely military-grade gasmask downstairs in my closet. Don't know what preperations you guys are making, but I plan to sit glued to CNN or CSPAN with said gasmask close at hand.

Sorry 'bout all this, I just had to vent- I've been extremely depressed about this whole shebang, and my quite possibly being drafted and therefore butchered for what will most likely be a futile attempt to kill a man whose going to go into hiding and send his terrorist buddies over here to just, ya' know, KILL US.

Well, Tata for now, kiddies.

Date: 3/19/2003 4:36:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47166    Not the world, just the U.S.A. and Iraq. Thanks for the reply
Date: 3/19/2003 4:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 39350    wow man you've made me feel so much happier about the war...NOT! I don't like the idea of innocents dying. But it's coming weither we like it or not, and we need to stand together. We as Americans.
Date: 3/19/2003 4:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I'm not letting myself get upset just yet. I really try not to think about it because when I do, I start to worry. I just read on Cnn.com a second ago that bush may decided to keep the Iraqi military on hold, "to keep them watching the skies", is what it said. Well...it's twenty minutes now until the ultimatum expires, we'll see what happens.
Date: 3/19/2003 4:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 61966    I'm scared about this whole war thing but I will be praying for our soldiers and everyone else. -BreathingBody
Date: 3/19/2003 5:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 27270    I understand your fears as I am afraid too! I hope I can put what I want to say into words without upsetting you. Here it goes....If you elude to the fear that Hussein will use chem/nuclear weapons to cause mass destruction (remember these are the SAME weapons he has claimed NOT TO HAVE, hence the whole problem), then would it be fair to say that you realize why we have to stop him before he can gain an even larger arsenal of those specific weapons? Yes, it's an UGLY scene no matter how we look at it and sadly, yes there are going to be casualties on both sides (nobody really WINS a war) but when Bush says he has evidence that Husseine possess these weapons, (even if he won't put it straight in front of us because that sort of intelligence is classified) then I believe and trust that he has a valid reason for such extreme measures. I wish we didn't have to go to war, but I have to admit, I think at this point there is no other option. He has had 12 years to disarm, and he keeps sticking it to us and evading the rules. I'd rather handle it now rather than later when the fear could be a CERTAINTY, instead of just a fear.
Date: 3/19/2003 6:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47166    Well, Thumbelina, I respect your opinion and see where you're coming from, but I must disagree. The way I look at it, Bush had this particular war planned since he was elected. This explains why the war on terror was suddenly put on the back burner for this sham of a war. Yes, Saddam is bad, and yes, he needs to go, but that's not what Bush's war is about. Bush's war, in my opinion, is about nothing more than paying Saddam back for what he did to Bush #1. The only reason I see that he's having this war now is to draw attention away from the growing economic problems here in the States and his on going falure to fullfill the promises he made upon his election. But, of course, this is just my admittedly bias opinion.
