Well, we have two telephone lines inour house...so if it is a boring person or someone I dont want to talk to I just motion to my daughter who goes to the other phone line not in use and calls the number I'm on...the phone will beep and I say "I have to let you go gotta long distance call coming in" It works everytime.  |

Tell them that there is someone at the door! One day, we had a door to door salesman, and my husband answered the door. I called the house phone with my cell phone, and I told my husband that he was wanted on the phone!! LOL.  |

Well you cud do what my duaghter does..she will walk up to me an say, "Mom, call me in a second and say you need the phone." LOL then I do it and wallah, she's off the hook. OR you cud say someone is at the door..you gotta go,, bye and hang up fast.  |

Ok this one worked on me..on several occasions. Hang up on him, or just lay the phone down beside the radio. Eventually he will get the idea. Normally by the third time he will get the idea.  |

Yell out something like: OMG! I forgot I had a pan of soup on the stove! Smoke is pouring out of the kitchen, gotta go! Also, what usually works very well is to just say you have a doctor/dental appointment, and you're running late already. Works for me.  |
