I think that's a pretty silly question. Who 'likes' war? While I'm here, I'll correct you. This war is very, very justified. If you value your safety and freedom at all, you know that it is. I've read so many posts where people were saying that Iraq had no biological and chemical weapons. If that's the case, how are those troops being armed with them now? Is there never a point when some people will admit that they were wrong? |

I dont like either war. War is not something you "like" both are needed and uqually important. |

In my opinion, BOTH are justified, but I don't LIKE either. No one necessarily "wins" a war, but in some ways war can accomplish certain things. What we should have done is had a war like this w/ the country that harbored and supported Osama bin Laden PRIOR TO 9/11. That is perhaps the most important thing (for me) to remember in the face of the war w/ Iraq. It's a preventative measure, so to speak. |

Call me crazy, but I don't like war. I believe that it was/is necessary in both cases, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. |

I have to sharply disagree with some of the replies here- A "preventative attack" is far from a good thing. Making preventative attacks is just a way to bully the world. We're the most powerful country in the world and now we are also the most aggresive? How can you possible keep falling for the propagandic notion that we have this right? Yes, Saddam is evil and should be removed from power, but what gives us the right to intrude upon the soveriegnty of any nation based soley on our own suspicions and paranoia? It goes against every ideal for which this great country was founded- Liberty, Freedom, and equality. Our founding fathers never, EVER would have forseen us as the aggresive force in a war! How dare we pass judgement on an entire populace without even having all the facts?!? Saddam may be nuts, but he's far from stupid- He wouldn't be so moronic as to openly attack a country of far greater power that also is one of it's most important oil customers! So, to answer the author's question- at least the war in Afghanistan is upheld by the ideals of our land. |

you can't Justify a war... not in my mind. But I do agree a terrorist act was made from people of that country towards your one. But this Iraq war is based on the fact they 'might' attack the USA. love, |

We're not done with Afghanistan yet. al-Qeda and bin Laden are still around, and we are still in Afghanistan. ~GypsyHawk~ |

Well...I don't "LIKE" either war. War is sad and I could never say I like one. But most of you know my opinions on the current war, so I'll live it at that. It's justified and neccessary. |

Okay, clukinvar, let me clarify a few things: A preventative attack IS a good thing if you're right. And before you argue IF we're right, consider this....you say QUOTE "based soley on our own suspicions and paranoia?" Do you mean the publics suspicions and paranoia? The government is not AND WILL NOT tell us everything because HELLO! this is classified information and they needn't tell us simply to gain support. When we have a good source of info, telling the public blows that to bits. That is what we pay them for! You ARE NOT going to know everything they know, that's where our govt. intelligence comes in! You said this is against Liberty, Freedom and Equality? HARDLY! This is ensuring exactly those things for OUR COUNTRY. Do you want this man to gain control of America? Do you want him to impose on Americans the hate and murder he has imposed on his OWN people? People here think the death penalty is unfair, what if the govt. gassed and killed us for his own reasons? Do you want to be lowered to HIS level and the standard of living in that country? And while you and I might not have all the facts (and rightly so), I am confident and believe that our govt. does, therefore I trust and support his decisions 120%. |

Neither. Frankenstein, everyone has weapons. I have a knife in the drawer of my bedside table in case of an intruder. I don't think anybody feels exactly safe. I think war sucks and I wish I lived back in the 1800's when nukes didn't exist. |

Although these comments have great points, I think that they miss what the author was really trying to ask. I believe the post is meant to be more political---would you support the president in his Afghan campaign more than the Iraqi campaign? I don't think the author is trying to say they are TV shows. ~GypsyHawk~ |
