Or do the authors of the Bible (Moses wrote Genesis) simply assume, we believe God created water?...by why would he (Moses), not mention it? This is an interesting question! |

oh right, ok. I Really don't know much about this kind of thing. I have never read through the bible, or done research of any kind on the topic. I think god created the earth, and water...But it is possible that some other immortal being created water i guess. Good post :) metal princess |

Hmm... I don't think there is a different god of this Earth at all. I also don't think that while creating this world, Satan would be the ruler of the waters. Satan had not yet went against God until after the world was created. I know that the Bible only tells us what we need to know. I'd think that God did create the Earth from matter that already existed however. |

Gen 1:1-2 In the beginning God 'created' the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. Notice the verse says God created..Created-not formed from any pre-existing materials, but made out of nothing. There was NOTHING in existence..God then moved upon the face of the waters. God created then He continued brooding over it, as a fowl does, when hatching eggs, by working on the dead and disarranged elements, combined, arranged them to be suitable for the plan which He already had in mind..In Ex 20:11 it says "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day." So Moses did say God created the waters and all things. In Ps 95:5 David says, The sea is His and He made it and His hands formed the dry land and in Pr 8:29 it says "When He gave to the sea His decree that the waters should not pass His commandment; when He appointed the foundations of the earth".. |

Water is a combination of two basic elements, hydrogen and oxygen. The heavens are full of both. God created the heavens and the earth, they both contain the basic elements which combined to make "water" or H2O...it's not rocket science... |

Hi ya Deb..Good to see ya here. :) I missed ya..LSG..I had a keyboard that had been used so much that the keys would stick and I had sooo many typos. I eventualy had to get buy a new one..Problem with that is, a week or so after I got that one, my grandson found his way to my computer room and somehow he caused it to lock up in a toggle key mode, whatever that means. :) No one could get it to ever work again. I now have everything new and it is so very nice. I had already been having trouble with my old computer. As I told my son, It was being so nasty that I was ready to give it a bathe in a tub of water. :) |

1 IN the beginning God• created• the heaven• and the earth. "The heaven and earth" encompasses all that is here, including water. From there He breaks it down. First He created those two where as to put everything needed. |

It has been said well here, but I want to add two more things. The order of creation does compliment science in that the waters of the deep were here before land. Also, no matter what one believes, I would definitely say the the third possiblility (about satan or some such ruling the waters) is not a possibility. Water is life-giving, and is a symbol of life. It is used a lot in the Bible, esp. in the NT, as such, and as baptism. ~GypsyHawk~ |

hmm, maybe the fact was sort of left out (not really according to Rusure's reply but... overlooked would be a better term) in all the translating... personally my thoughts are that the bible was created from a larger document, on stone, but was destroyed, (i don't know where that came from i like halfway lost control of my fingers there that was weird) |

From my knowledge of the theory that something exploded and the planets just happened, it says that the earth was consumed by fire until it later cooled and then water popped up and other stuff did too. Well anyway, When GOD created the heavens and the earth, He formed it with water. I think it was kinda a mist and water until God's spirit moved over it and gave it form. God used water to create the earth... does that make sense. MSG me if it doesn' |
