28 years of marriage...

My husband who is 49 years just recently suffered a hear attack on March 1st. He turned 50 on the 20th and we had our anniversary on the 17th. We have been together for twenty eight years and they have been wonderful. Even our bad times and sad times have been good. He is my everything! I realized when he had the heart attack just how much I really love him. I cannot imagine life without him. We are like super glue to each other. We raised four kids and now enjoy our two grandsons that stay with us everyday. We have had our ups and downs but we always said that differences were healthy stepping stones on our path to eternity. I just want to tell all of you to cherish your spouse and hang in there if you truly love him/her. One day you will look back and all those troubles will seem so small and unimportant. Cherish each day for tomorrow may not come. Since his heart attack I no longer take him for granted like I did. I want us to grow very old together and love every minute of it!!

Date: 3/19/2003 11:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...It may be a bit premature, but I'd like to wish you and your husband a Happy 50th anniversary! Only 22 more years to go to the big date. I really hope your hubby is recovering well and you do get your chance to enjoy each other's company for many years to come!
Date: 3/19/2003 11:58:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 39887    My husband is doing great. He quit smoking. He is on a very strict healthy way of eating now, my whole family is and thats a good thing! We are walking. He is not working 9 or 10 hours a day anymore. We realized what we were doing wrong and together we are going to whip this mad disease. Really now that I plan our meals and read the labels carefully before I buy a product, I realize what harmful things we were putting into our bodies. We eat a lot of the right fruits and veggies and less meats. Thank you so much for asking.
Date: 3/20/2003 12:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 28946    I am glad that you all are trying to eat healthier. God Bless.

People like us are very lucky that we have found someone, as a lot of people don't. As my hubby says, "there ARE no other people who would put up with us!" LOL Best Wishes...Pookie Love

Date: 3/21/2003 3:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 47242    Congratulations on your 28 yrs together. There have been a lot of ups and downs in our 32 yrs of marriage.Since my husband had cancer, we cherish every moment we have together. He's a fire chief for a volunteer fire dept. and both of us are 1st responders. He wants me to go with him and I do go as much as I can.A lot of people wouldn't go because the house is a mess, the wash needs to be done or this needs to be done or that needs to get done. Oh well,I firgure maybe the maid will come in and do it while I'm gone lol!!!! trauma momma
