Good Idea, but I dont think it would work, because then Chatmins will want to give them out. And if they do that, and allow Cat.Monitors, Chatmins and Admins give awards, I dont see a problem with it. But until then, some admins take consideration into someone nominating someone else  |

amanda that may be true, but its also had to get a category and then watch it. the chatmins, they only watch chat. of course we only watch out catergories, but like i said its harder to get that position, then it is to get a chatmin. i think it worsk |

If I had to vote on this though as an admin... I would go with Undecided... because really it does have the oppurtunity to cause a problem. Before they start doing this, something else could be made for a nominations list for people who the members think deserve awards. I know I have had a bit of difficulty giving out awards to people I think deserve them, because there are just so many. I have a whole list made up in a notebook to people I have seen on the site stand out, that dont even have one yet. |

oh i agree Amanda, I'd love to give out awards to those people. i've gone through some of the profiles here, and have written their names and author ids down, but since i dont have the authority to give out awards, its kind of useless, yes i have given most of the names to some of the admins, whether they act on it or not. its their choice. im wanting to give out the awards i have made, but i cant. |

its so hard to sit back and watch the people that do give awards, and i cant. i do think its unfair, but then i have to think, its a good thing because a lot of people get the awards they deserve, and thats why i want to give them out to. |

I can understand that too. I remember being a chatmin wanting to give out awards.. But I waited patiently and if I hadn't had gotten an admin position, I would still be nominating who I think should get awards. I dont think its too unfair, because we have 40 admins. The only thing that I can even think of that would probably benefit USM award wise would probably be for admins to be able to give out 2 awards a week instead of one. But thats just me I am happy with it the way it is either way. |

I think awards are very special, and should be earned by USMers. I think the Admins do a great job in weeding through ALL the catgories and profiles to give awards. I also think it should stay the way it is, or else we are going to have ... "Well, I am a MEMBER and have been for X-number of years and "I" should give awards too"... I think the line drawn at Admins is a very good rule. That is something SPECIAL that the Admins can give back to the users, and they see it all  |
