Prairievilles Bench Warmers Society***Katsho

Due to this being "real life" I will not put actual names of people into my post without there families consent.

In around the 1900's there was a group of old men that sat out front of Prairieville Store on a bench to chat about anything that came to mind. One day they created the "Bench Warmers Society". They had several rules to follow...one of them being that you had to sit on the bench everyday for atleast 30 minutes. No women were aloud, and other rules. They would widdle, talk, gossip, share stories....In the end Im guessing there was about 10 or 12 of them. They started passing away one by one...We have a plague with there names and only 3 or 4 of them are still alive today. We also have the bench which we moved into the store because it was getting weather rotted and noone is aloud to sit on it. Although, I think our bench warmers still hang around today and sit on there bench.

We also and still today have domino games every morning and evening. These peeps are called the domino guys. They dont have a plague but there have been a few to pass which is very sad. One old timer came in every morning smoking a cigar and played dominos. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack. The next week we found his cigar laying in the ashtray. He had already been buried. Everyonce in while I will catch a smell of his cigar. Then I just tell him hi and hes off again. He was such a sweet old man.

How it changed my life:

Makes me not so scared of death.

Date: 4/12/2003 6:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 28363    I just love all your prairieville ghost stories. I would be scared to death if I thought the afterlife was about sitting in a chair in that store; seems obvious that certain ghosts must repeat these patterns after death while many humans find it charming and look forward to joining them. Those who have ears ought to listen

And it's wonderful that you can share these stories with everyone. I love reading your stories and the fact that they are true life one's make them even more interesting and exciting to read.
