GOING OUT ALONE WHEN YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND.

I went to the movies tonight. I went to see that movie, "The Core". Which was good I guess. I was all hyped to go by myself. I enjoyed it. My boyfriend plays in a band and he has paying gigs at night on the weekends. Do you think it's fair of me to go by myself?

I think it is. A girl has to have her moments to be free. That's one reason I like not being married. I have a sort of freedom. I would be afraid that as soon as the ring is on my finger that free part of me would be locked in a closet. Knowing my boyfriend the way I do, I know he wouldn't care. He likes for me to be happy. In fact when I got home tonight. He left me a little love note. LOL. I know it's sappy, but Man! My ex husband NEVER did that. We've been going out for a year or so and it's gotten to that point where we're comfortable with eachother, the honeymoon is over. LOL.

I just wondered what you guys thought of this. Is it fair of me? He is concerned about my safety. I always go to public places, no bars by myself. What do you think?

Date: 4/11/2003 9:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24845    Thanks Fire Rain. I believe I'll do just that. Thanks for responding.
Date: 4/11/2003 9:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 3538    I think it's fair to go places by yourself.I go shopping by myself and my boyfriend does not mind or say anything about it. I think we all need time just for ourself once in a while and we need to spend time alone for ourselves at times and do something just for us.
Date: 4/11/2003 9:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    I don't see anything wrong in having some 'me-time'...if anything it can help improve a relationship, for a relationship isn't about doing absolutely EVERYTHING together...you still need to have your own identity as well, your own interests and opportunities to enjoy them...or any relationship will eventually become stiffling. Peace,
Date: 4/11/2003 9:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 56840    Hey, as long as you don't flirt with the boys.. Hehe!
Date: 4/11/2003 9:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 48689    I agree with you. There's this country song, "There's more to me than you" and I think that somewhat applies in this situation. You are free to do whatever you want (within reason, of course!)
Date: 4/11/2003 9:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 30051    I think it would be very unhealthy for a woman to NOT have alone time.
Date: 4/11/2003 9:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 47218    nothing wrong with going to the movies by yourself. You're a big girl. You and your boyfriend shouldn't be together all the time, anyhow-- you have to be your own person.
Date: 4/11/2003 10:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 28767    Na i like doing things by myself sometimes. Give's me freedom to do whatever and go where ever i want too. Peace Out..

Date: 4/11/2003 11:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I think its ok hun, we all need some "time out" and its good that you can both understand this, just be careful though when you are out on your own...hugs
Date: 4/12/2003 6:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 19586    My honey and I always take time for ourselves. It is only fair...
Date: 4/12/2003 7:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 53558    Yes, it is Okay for you to go out on your own. We all need to have a break from each other. So don't worry, Angel 2001.
Date: 4/12/2003 2:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i think even being married you should have your moments to yourself... it's what you can call YOU time... and everyone needs it.. as long as the YOU time doesn't take you to the bar and flirting as if you were single again
Date: 4/14/2003 5:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 61104    I think that going somewhere by yourself is fine as long as it is a public place. When I thin of all thethings that could have happened to me after my divorce I thank the Goddess I am alive. Just be careful!!
Date: 4/14/2003 4:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24845    Amen Gothgirl, I was thinking the same thing. I think it's important to be going with others, but sometimes it's nice to go by yourself, the thing is, "us girls" got to be careful.
