Well, I was going to suggest bleach, but you said you have already tried that. How long did you let the bleach stand? Usually I will put the bleach in at night and let it stand overnight and in the morning take a scrub brush to it and it comes sparkling clean. Love,  |

Once it gets to a certain time where it is black, there is really nothing that can get it white again. Alot of the damage has to do with the water inself. If bleach didnt do the trick nothing will sorry to say, besides getting a new toilet. Been there and has to do that..hehe  |

I just found another post here about this and the person said to use a pumice stone. bleach the bowl and let it sit for a bit, put on rubber gloves and gently rub with the pumice stone. You can get them at the drug store. |

OMG, Mag, do you mean to tell me that the same thing I use to make my feet smooth will fix my toilet? Gosh, my feet must be really really yucky!!!!!!!! lol! Hadn't though of a pumice stone for this, come to think of it the black line might be something I can scrape off w/ elbow grease, it's the only thing I haven't thought of! This works and its very inexpensive!! Buy you a pumice stone and use it on the ring, it will disappear and it won't scratch your bowl.  |
